Is it true Mr. President?

President Obama said he would not raise taxes for healthcare unless you were the top 1% (making over $250,000).

Now his officials state they must raise taxes across the board.

Isn't this proof that the President is taking us down an expensive, bad healthcare path?

What happened to the promise of no new taxes?

Does this just mean he is another tax and spend liberal?

no one with any common sense would ever trust a liberal to do anything other than remove your rights, raise your taxes, and impose vile, repulsive, anti-American values on everyone. And as an added bonus, obama Hussein is a vile muslim who is not even legally allowed to be President.

He's more than a tax and spend liberal. He has spent so much that another country, China, owns us. He has a trillion dollar health care plan that won't show any savings for at least a decade and then the savings will be only a fraction of the costs, he has a $1.8 trillion dollar budget in the works as well. How is he going to pay for this? And God help us if cap and trade gets passed somehow. WE pay China $300 billon a year in interest and that doesn't even include the principal. In 2019 the interest payments will be almost a trillion a year.

Obama is driving this country down the path to total destruction and no one is doing anything about it.

Could this be Bushes third term?

Already trillion of dollars spent, campaign promises broken! All within a year of taking office!

The new Secretary of State being snubed by iran/iraq of all places!

Come on liberals, face it! America is flushed down the crapper in record time with this President!

I do not know why everyone is always surprised by all of this. EVERY presidential candidate, during elections, says they will not raise taxes. And, surprise surprise, taxes get raised no matter who gets elected to office. Are you all really that stunned by this?

Sure it's what they do. They swear that they won't tax you until they get elected then raise taxes to pay back the special interest groups that donated to the campaign.

That is a false interpretation of what Geithner said.

GEITHNER: George, we can't make these judgments yet about what exactly it's going to take and we're going to get there. But the very important thing, and no one is going to care about this more than the President of the United States, is for people to understand that we do not have a choice as a country, that if we want an economy that is going to grow in the future, people have to understand that we have to bring those deficits down. And it's gonna, it's going to difficult - hard for us to do and the path to that is through health care reform. But that's necessary but not sufficient. We [are] going to do some other things too.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So revenues are on the table, as well?

GEITHNER: Again, we're not at the point yet where we're going to make a judgment about what it's going to take. But the important thing…

STEPHANOPOULOS: But you're not ruling it out, you can't rule it out.

GEITHNER: I think what the country needs to do is understand we're going to have to do what it takes, we're going to do what's necessary.

I love how you've turned "may have to raise some taxes," into "must raise taxes across the board."

You could work for Fox "News" with spin like that.

And please find me a single cited quote anywhere over the entire campaign and his presidency where Obama said he would never raise taxes.

    We're waiting....

Obama officials: Taxes may rise to pay health care

There is a difference between May and Will, or did that just skip over your head?
