How accurate is your BMI?

example: My BMI states that I am overweight but could it be because I am only 5'3 and extremely muscular (gymnast)? Because I know i'm not overweight and my body fat percentage is really low. So why does my BMI state that i am really really overweight??

BMI doesn't work for muscular people, because muscle weighs a lot more than fat! So this would mean that all the tennis players and all the athletes in the world would be obese if they went by their BMI and they are the fittest and skinniest people that I know!!
