I'm 23 and tying to pick a new hobby and I was thinking that learning an instrument might be fun. I wasn't sure what instrument I should learn I love listen to the violin but there is an lack of adult beginner class in my area. Then I was thinking the guitar or piano. I like the guitar but will my finger tips be sore and what can of guitar would be best. With the piano it's ok I already know a few key but not a lot. Also I am willing to learn anything as long as I can have good time and meet new people.

The guitar and piano are good social instruments, however
Learning the Guitar
You need a course of instruction.
The best way is with a private teacher
2nd would be class lessons
3rd regularly get together with other guitar players
or if you absolutely will or can not do the above, Buy a book on how to play the guitar and follow it religiously.
last would be to find some free online lessons and skip around in them doing what YOU think you want to do next.
Guitar is one of the world’s most popular instruments.
It is easy to take with you.
It has a sound that people like.
It can be use in almost any type of music.
Almost anyone can learn to play it.
Simple music is easily played after only a few days or weeks.
You can continue to learn new and challenging music forever.
As for sore finger tips, don't over do the practice. Start with 5 minute sessions several times a day. After you start to develop callouses you can go longer.

As a self-taught drummer myself, i will be able to inform you that there fairly isn't any 'rapid" option to study an tool. It takes plenty of persistence, train, field, and tough paintings. Now that being mentioned, a few men and women do study faster than others so all of it is determined by the character. I have 2 cousins that each play guitar and each are self-taught. My one cousin Terry practiced practically daily and picked it up faster than my cousin Dave, who did not train close to as a lot. Terry grew to become beautiful darn well in approximately eight months. It all boils all the way down to how observed you're, how a lot you train, and the way speedily you select matters up. My recommendation might be to get a tutorial publication or DVD and study a couple of chords. If you do it for your possess you'll keep plenty of cash and you'll be able to cross at your possess velocity. Guitar classes don't seem to be low priced at the moment, except you understand anyone. Just provide it a shot for your possess for a month or two and spot the way you growth. Then for those who consider you wish to have classes to get larger, then uncover a well trainer that may not be too steeply-priced. But the hot button is to train....train.....train! Good Luck!
