Go to hospital or dont go to hospital?

so my grandma is 63 years old and looks good for her age . she woke up this morning and she was fine, she ate breakfast and 30 mins later thats when she felt this giant pain in her chest ..and she usually doesnt call my mom at work but this time she did because it was an emergency.. i had woken up after she called my mom..and when i saw her like that i immediatly woke my brother up so we can take her to the hospital but when we got up stairs she had ran to the bathroom to throw up ..she said she felt a little better after that. when my mom got home we wanted to take her but she said she was fine ..im thinking she said that because she has no insurance and they charge alot of money , money that we dont have....

so she felt better after that and now its 11:30 pm and the pain in her chest is coming back .. i dont know if i should wake up my mom to take her to the hospital...

she is a smoker and im thinking its because of that..and i dont think its a heart attack because the pain would be unbarable...what should i do??

Update:

i just asked her if she is feeling better and she said that it's fine ..she said that burping helps it i gave her water with alkitseltzer( how ever you spell it)

..

well thanks for the advice i'll be on grandma watch the whole night!

I would wait and see what happens. If anything does happen, more than one more time tonight or its more severe, then take her to the hospital right away, but otherwise take her to the regular doctor in the morning.

Just because the pain is not "unbearable" doesn't mean it's not a heart attack. I have heard of people driving themselves to the hospital while having a heart attack.

If chest pain persists, she should see a doctor. Don't delay.

As soon as she turns 65, have her sign up on Medicare part A and B and get a Medicare Supplement, preferably a plan F or G.

YES! could possibly be a heart-attack coming on but you never know you should take her just too be sure shes in fine health

Take her to Parkland. They treat uninsured patients. She definitely needs to see a dr. If she has a regular dr., call and have him paged to call you right back. She may feel better about going to hospital if her own doc tells her to go.

think to yourself for a second- your grandmother is suffering and she may die. when some one's life is on the line, you shouldn't have to ask yourself if money is a problem.

but that's just my view. i don't want to guilt trip you, but that's your situation.
