Will bleach kill weeds?

I don't plan on using it in my garden, but for the weeds that grow through the cracks in my driveway and next to the street. Will they stay gone or does it not kill them at the root? Is it ok that the bleach is scented??

Update:

I had some round-up but I ran out. I don't have time to go to the store tomorrow because I got a notice on my front door today saying that if I don't get rid of the weeds within 24 hours, they might evict me. Yeah, it sucks living in a trailor park!

boiling water..... but you'll still need to pull out the dead stuff, no matter what you use.... suggest a lot of water on the area to soak it, then a flat blade screwdriver to dig with and go for it.....

If your near a tractor supply company store go in there and buy their version of roundup. It is a lot cheaper and higher strength. You will find that you only have to use it twice a year (early spring then summertime). I forget what it is called, but they will show you. The name of the stuff (chemical) is something like glucophage.

Fire works on weeds, but it may leave black marks on your concrete, and it would heat up your asphalt. you don't have to worry about black marks on asphalt.. You can also pull them, which costs nothing. Additionally, if you have animals in your area, using grease will attract them.

you can heat up grease and it will kill them for a little while but they will grow back after time

  • Use plain vinegar, full strength. Or just pull them out.

It would be better if you used Round Up, which is made for that purpose.
