what can cops do about a stolen camera?

what can cops do if you call them about a stolen camera and you think you know who took it, what will they do to the person they think took it? an 8.1 mega pixel camera...

    You would probably have to have some sort of proof that the person took the camera. At most they would question the person but can't search the person's property without probable cause.

    Sorry to say it Bre but stolen property is seldom ever recovered unless its part of a ring that gets busted and it happened to be in their possession. Not very likely. As far as punishments, there are many variables here so I couldn't really say.

    It's a possibility that they will confront the person you "think" did it, if you know where they may be, or you will be able to take them to court. Unless the camera is found on them on you saw them do it, it is very hard to prove.

    It all means nothing if you have no way of identifying your camera (serial number). No serial #...your outta luck.

    If you have one then the officer should question the person, but thats as far as they can go with out further proof.
