For Muslims About Questions that go: Why is ... Haraam?

I have an idea, a simple idea that every Muslim can try.

If you know something is Haraam or you have heard that something is Haraam, and you must stay away from it,

And it angers or agitates you that this is Haraam

OR

You really feel that that is too simple to be Haraam

OR

it continuously goes through your mind that why is this Haraam, WHY

(I know most of you know the type of thing that I am speaking of)

When this happens, ask yourself:

Why am I getting so worked up about something so simple?

How hard will it be for me to stay away from such a simple thing?

Am I that dependent on this thing that I cannot even stay away from it?

Why would I be so dependent on this simple worldly thing?

Will it harm me in any way to stay away from it?

So then why am I getting so worked up?

Is this the Shaytaan blinding me?

Is the Shaytaan making me believe a small thing like this will totally destroy/change my life just because I stay away from it?

All I am saying is ask yourself why am i so angry, before why is it Haraam.

Thats all.

Update:

I did not mean don't ask.

I mean think about why you are asking before you ask.

Update 2:

@ Greendew:

Asalamualaikum

Yes there are some extremists who do do that. That I know and can understand.

But there is one thing many people forget, when they pass blame or accuse people of extremism, that is that Shaytaan is a very very very deceitful being, and can manipulate mankind very easily, and is VERY GOOD at it. (And I do think Music is Haraam).

Not everything entertaining and joyful is good, I know that.

But you must always ask yourself if something were to be considered Haraam. Does this benefit me or bring me closer towards Allah(swt) in any way? Or does it push me further away.

Why do I think people constantly ask why is Music Haraam? Simply Because the Shaytaan is deceitful and lours people toward the Haraam and they would resist making things Haraam because of this.

And if it will make your life depressing to leave it, then truly, Are you not too close to the Dunyah?

Is the raise of Allah(swt) not enough to lift your spirits? And why not?

I think you brought up some very good points, however, you need to understand the reason why they are asking these questions.

It's because there are just too many extremists out there, who try to label practically anything fun and enjoyable as haram.

And when i say 'fun and enjoyable', i am not referring sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc. I am referring to music, art, video games, board games, sports, and all the other things that many scholars consider to be 'a waste of time'. People just aren't able to live that kind of lifestyle. They will be miserable all the time, there will be no ways by which they can enjoy themselves; no music, no singing, no dancing... nothing except strict adherance to a religious lifestyle. It's just too difficult.

But let me ask you a question in return; why do you think these questions are being asked so frequently? For example, why do you think people are always asking "why is music haram?" Doesn't it give you an indication that it is extremely difficult for them to accept that music is haram? Personally, i don't think music is haram (not all types of music anyway), but i respect the opinions of others who disagree.

Look at the religious clerics: they always look serious, strict, and hardly ever smile. They keep looking for the opportunity to accuse someone of doing something haram. Aren't they supposed to be religious, compassionate, kind, gentle?

If people are always screaming "haram!" at anything remotely entertaining or enjoyable, of course people are going to get upset, and of course they are going to keep asking these kind of questions.

In most case its the absurdity of the claim that it is HARAM from other sources than the Quran that the mind refuse to accept. No body seriously questions all the things that are clearly declared Haram in the Quran with the word Haram next to it or/and clearly worded punishment prescribed for it.

All the things that are considered haram, have their own reasons.

It's not wrong to want to understand. It's not wrong to ask. Religion is not obligation, it's understanding and persuasion.
