Will a mortgage loan that I want to keep will affect my application process for Air Force Officer?

Currently I own an apartment that pays $886 including maintenance. Something like that is almost impossible to obtain in where I live. Because mostly you end up paying 1,500 at least monthly in this area.

I will probably end up renting it.

I'm thinking in applying to Air Force Officer, I got all the requirements but I don't know if that mortgage could be an issue in the application process.

Update:

I must add that I'm married, I don't have children.

My wife is a professional with a master degree and she is willing to work if we move out.

Your apartment pays $886? Do you mean you pay $886 for the place?

I can't think of a reason that a mortgage would affect your application to be an Air Force Officer. You'd probably be better off asking the Air Force. Being an officer wouldn't affect a mortgage, but even after 12 years processing and underwriting, I wouldn't know if this would affect your application.
