How do people get such cheap flights all the time?

I always hear the airlines as well as my friends talking about really cheap flights and it being the time to travel because flights are so cheap. My husband and I are planning a trip from Atlanta to Las Vegas and can't find anything round trip for under $300 each!!!

Where are all these $59 flights or what not? Help!

Shop around to atleast 5 different airlines and you will always find a cheaper price. Sometimes there are even promotions, The sooner you book the cheaper.

But $300 round trip per passenger does sound about right to me...

These cheap flights were limited time specials. Those prices were per each way, plus taxes, baggage and all of the other things they charge for these days. Do not be deceived. That $59 flight will cost you $250 when your done. And those are middle seats and 6 AM flights usually. Forget it.

ATA will be your cheapest. They also are very good these days. Delta is another one to check. Pretty much anyone else does not fly that route. So you would end up all day in airports worried about the weather in a city unrelated to your trip (like Dallas or Phoenix).

Go directly to the airline website. Check for specials first. Then try a few different travel dates and times. Usually Tue - Thur are easier flights to get. If you travel on Friday it will cost you more (supply-demand).

Check who flies that route at www.flightstats.com.

As you have seen, the $59 flights do not include Vegas. If you are still

looking, check AirTran website and then click on vacations. You may

need to check several times, but my son is going to Vegas in Oct. with his Dad and they got a pretty good deal. This will include your

hotel as well. Just be patient and keep checking. They are flying from

    ATL as well.

  • The $59 flights are usually to places in the same state or really close states or small airports. And special deals.

You should buy those plane tickets cuz those are reallly really really cheap and your not gonna get cheaper.

If you want cheaper than that you have to buy weeks/months ahead of time.

I'm 14 and fly alone all the time and it usually cost $ 1,000 so those are cheap!

    Hope I helped!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

It's normally under a special deal that has a lot of special circumstances. Otherwise it's really short flights from small airports.
