Have you ever said "wow, I can't believe I just saw that" during a game?

And if so, what play / player made you say that? For me, it's was last years derby performance by Josh Hamilton. :) Another was the 30-3 game a few seasons ago. :) But what is your moment? You can list more if you like. :)

Im going to say Buherle's perfect game this year. I have never seen a game like that in my life. As a Rays fan, it sucked it happened to us, but it was great to watch as a fan. The Rays making the world series was one of those moments to because before the season started. You could of never imagined them making the playoffs, let alone get to the world series. That to me was amazing.

I have had that "wow" moment plenty of times when watching baseball. Here's just a few:

Josh Hamilton's derby performance last year was one of them.

When Aaron Boone hit the HR in the 2003 ALCS. (That was a good wow.)

When the Yankees officially lost the 2004 ALCS. (This was a sad wow.)

This season when the Yankees beat the Mets in the bottom of the ninth due to the dropped pop up by Luis Castillo.

But the ultimate for me was games 4 and 5 in the 2001 World series when the Yankees came back with game-tying home runs in the bottom of the ninth both games.

Firstly, I totally agree with your comments about JBL. He's done a lot for the business and he deserved more than that. He should have had a proper retirement match. I'm not afraid to admit, I cried when Victoria left, she was my favourite women's wrestler. At least she's in TNA now, but at the time I didn't know weather or not that would happen, and it was sad to see her go after LOSING her last match. I felt that she deserved more, too. There was such a big event made of Flair's retirement that I was in hegs of tears on the night of his retirement, and more so the night after, with his speech on RAW. Lita's retirement was awful, I cried then, too. She deserved SO much more than what she got, it was terrible. I didn't cry at Trish's actual retirement match, but afterwards, when I saw HER crying backstage, it set me off. Maybe I'm just a sensitive person, but I pretty much always cry when a favourite wrestler of mine says good bye to the business. Especially if he or she does a thank you speech, ha ha. BQ - Can I have both? LoL.

    Many times.

I remember Ken Griffey Jr. making a catch in Detroit that just blew me away. It was at Tiger Field in 1997 or 98 on a ball hit deep to right-center. He was running back at full speed and jumped just after he got to the warning track. He hit the fence with his hips nearly at that top of the fence and took a home run away. The following week, Sports Illustrated featured the catch in the Leading Off section, with a series of four or five shots showing Griffey's trajectory after he landed.

And again in 2001 when the D-Back came back against Mariano Rivera to win Game 7 in the bottom of the ninth.

There's a lot of others, but those are the ones I could think of on short notice.

This year, when Jason Kubel hit for the cycle with a grand slam and the Twins had rallied back in that game to beat the Angels.

Also, when the Twins won the World Series in 87 and 91. Just to see those Twins teams play was amazing...especially Kirby Puckett.

  • On July 27th, in the first game of the Pirates-Giants series, Randy Winn hit a blooper to right field. It bounced off the glove, leg, and foot of the Pirates right fielder, popped up again, and the center fielder dove in and caught it. Unfortunately for the Pirates, the umps called no catch and another run came for the Giants, even though they tagged Winn out between 1st and 2nd.

  • Asdrubal Cabrera getting an unnasisted triple play

Victor Martinez and Ryan Garko getting triples

When shin shoo choo got the game winning hit after it bounced off a gull in the outfield. Coco Crisp's reaction was great

Mark Buerhle's perfect game this year.

And I was there in person when the Mets Alex Ochoa hit for the cycle on July 3, 1996 in Philadelphia. That was a "I can't believe I just saw that in person" moment.

I was at the game at Shea Stadium in the mid 1980's when Dion James of the Braves hit a pop up that hit and killed a sea gull. He got a grounds rule double.

The home run that Albert Pujols hit off of Brad Lidge in Game 5 of the 2005 NLCS.

There is no telling how far that ball would have went had there not been a wall there to stop it. It was mythical.
