Microphone

by Koye Lott

Like a sentinel with one leg

she guards my reaction to music... and gives voice

to them

She keeps no secrets...

For every syllable I whisper

she shares eagerly with strangers

Boldly sharing my deepest emotions

about love

about life

about being understood... and needing someone

Our relationship is lifelong and I thought I trust... her...

onstage with me

Why do I share my life with a microphone....?

Update:

Bluebelle, if I sat on a piano in a tight white dress.... I would need the Mercy of God to get out of there alive.

Update 2:

Bluebelle, I'm barely tolerable in my own clothes.

    Really nice.

Only suggestion is change the title so that the microphone reveal comes across as a surprise.

    I liked this a lot.

    Best,

Excellent. I never do this but I'd leave the title off so we don't see what's coming. This is so good.

Side note: Sit on the piano in a tight dress and heels and you won't be quite so much at the mercy of the mic. Works for me. x.

Edit: You realize that can be taken two different ways. Just how good DO you look in a dress? hehehe

I'm with Bluebelle - do the Michelle Pfeiffer piano lounging from The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Yes the element of surprise is reduced by the title.

Call it "I gotta hand it to ya" or something...
