Why Did Obama Spend ONE MILLION DOLLARS In Legal Fees To NOT Produce A Legal Birth Certificate?

I've been reading up on this and every President has had to PROVE that he is a LEGAL citizen of the United States and to provide an ACTUAL birth certificate in order to run and hold office. I've learned that before Obama ran for President he had a law firm research ways to get arround providing a birth certificate and has spent ONE MILLION DOLLARS in legal fees. If he was really born in the USA wouldn't it be very easy to just show the birth certificate? I also saw the birth certificate that he had posted on line and I asked my father for his because he and Obama were born arround the same time. I can see so many differences in why they say Obamas is a fake.Im just a kid and it really doesnt make sense why anyone would spend ONE MILLION DOLLARS to hide something. If I had ONE MILLION DOLLARS I'd rather have it in my bank account and just show someone my real birth certificate.i know im gonna get some crazy Obama nuts that love the guy but I want to know what you think.

Update:

My dad showed me his birth certificate and college transcripts. So if my dad can be honest and upfront with me why cant Obama be the same way with the American people?

You haven't been reading the right sites. No president has ever had to "provide an ACTUAL birth certificate in order to run and hold office." Ever.

There's no evidence Obama had a law firm search for such evidence. John McCain, however, had two very prominent lawyers (Tribe and Olson) research the issue in McCain's unique case.

There's no evidence that Obama has spent anywhere near a million on the citizenship issue. There are only 2 sources that even mention specific amounts of legal fees. One source was an email April Fool's spoof, since disproven but frequently cited, the other is FEC filings from the campaign where all the bills were attributed to the BC issue. None of the case has made it to the point where significant legal fees start to rack up. Instead, they get thrown out because the plaintiff's lack standing, are filing in the wrong court, are filing paperwork wrong, or have been judged frivolous. He also hasn't spent anything preventing the records from being accessed: every one has the same rights to privacy in this country, and personal info can't be released to just anyone who asks for it.

Obama has shown his proof of birth in Hawaii, in the form that Hawaii currently issues those documents. Officials in Hawaii have confirmed that the information is correct, and that Obama was born in Hawaii. A birth certificate (or any other name for proof of birth) is merely a document that says that the real information is located and held by the state government.

Why don't you prove Obama has spent ANYTHING.

My birth certificate doesn't look anything like Obama's either .... because I was born in Ohio in 1971 not in Hawaii in 1961.

Unless your father was born in Hawaii around the same time there is no reason to expect the two papers to look alike.

"I've been reading up on this and every President has had to PROVE that he is a LEGAL citizen of the United States and to provide an ACTUAL birth certificate in order to run and hold office."

So, if you had any brains, do you think that they'd just abandon this policy and throw it out the window on #44 after checking ALL of the previous 43? They've checked every other President in history, but they let this one just slide? That doesn't really make logical sense, DOES it?

You obviously haven't heard, you've lost. President Obama is a U.S. citizen. And because you're argument is a lie, I'll refute it specifically. He hasn't spent any money for any legal fees because the cases trying to prove he isn't a citizen have no standing and keep getting kicked out of court. Take your medicine, the voices are not your friends.

He has presented a legal birth certificate AND Hawaiian officials have confirmed his birth.

He did not spend 1 million in legal fees...did you get that from a spam email or an illegitimate birthers website?

Who cares? Give it a rest! Frankly, I don't care where he was born; I think he's the best thing that has happened to this country -- no make that this planet -- in a long time. When will people learn that we are all one on this tiny globe and if we continue to desstroy it and each other our kids and their kids will have no more beautiful earth. I'm not a "crazy Obama nut that loves the guy". Whatever heals, that's what I'm in favor of.

Actually, they've checked his birth certificate several times and it is proven to be real.

You might want to rethink your research; you CANNOT be president without showing a legal birth certificate. Money has no effect whatsoever.

EDIT: Also, I believe people use this argument as a way to justify their prejudice against him or to make themselves feel better that the Republicans didn't win.

Because to him, it is worth spending over a million dollars to keep the truth hidden. Something in that Long-Form Birth Certificate may reveal why he qualified for scholarships as a foreign student at Occidental College

What???? Obama was not born here?????

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping this in the news. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Please keep this critical and important piece of news front and center, at least until after the 2012 elections. This is important.

Try some paragraphs, and how about providing a link to back up your assertions?

He HAS provided his birth certificate.

The Supreme Court has rejected birther lawsuits THREE times.
