I had a 4th degree tear even with being cut twice/episiotomy. I remember feeling like the stitches were poking me too. My stitches were already dissolving by six weeks according to my check-up with my OB. I do remember that right before things got better, it got worse, and it was itchy when the stitches were healing. Check with your doctor to find out if they should be dissolved by now. Don't forget to use the witch hazel pads and sit on a pillow for extra comfort. Good luck!
