Why is Pres. Gloria so special she cannot be expected to eat on a hotdog stand?

I remember Obama taking his lunch on an average restaurant ordering cheeseburgers and fries.

I remember even Dumbya going around packing his own food and eating cheetos.

So...is Gloria so special she will not eat foods that common Filipinos and Americans eat?

(This is in response to Press Secretary Cerge Remonde, who defended the P1-million dinner at the posh Le Cirque restaurant in New York City by saying that the President can’t be expected to eat in a hotdog stand).

I remember one shameless American who ended up a national joke because of the same demeanor and excesses exhibited by Ate Glo and friends: Sarah Palin.

Update:

To Gaoli: yes it seems we Filipinos are cursed into having so many politicians that are either corrupt or out of touch with the reality in our country.

I think there should be a law that will require any politicians going on foreign trips to account for all the expenses incurred which were billed using Filipino money. There should also be very good reasons why so many alalays came and if these people indulged in Filipino tax money during their free tip to USA.

Update 2:

To JD and Moby Dick: I am judgmental? Translate what this means: The President cannot be expected to eat on a hotdog stand. The President is a loyalty. Loyalties are not supposed to eat the same foods that common people eat.

I was wondering if GMA's people think the same when she was campaigning last election, wooing the masa by visiting a poor family's shanty...and then pretend to enjoy eating their foods w/ bare hands.

How will GMA justify what happened in La Cirque?

The only thing Press Sec. Remonde said was quite true is that would you send President Gloria to eat in a hotdog stand in New York. Yes true she is the leader of the Philippines and I think neither her own entourage would like the idea of eating hotdog in the middle of the street in New York.

But as a leader of one of the poorest country in Southeast Asia she should have been prudent and shown modesty not to entertained the idea of eating out in one of the expensive French restaurant. Besides the person who according to the news who sponsored the dinner is a relathieves...er....relatives of Imelda Marcos, Congressman Romualdez of Leyte I guess. She could have told the entire staff together with her to just eat in any Chinese or Filipino cuisine down town isn't it? But she entertained the idea and place HER once again to the wrath of the entire Filipino nation. She never learn from her past mistakes I guess from her famous I AM SORRY dialogue to ZTE controversy she added more medals to her monster reputation. She is NOT a very good leader to follow. Well she is going on 2010 so another monster occupy the palace? I hope not this time around.

This is the problem with the Philippine Laws and Civil Service Ethics, just like any other County. People who work for the government should live modestly and discrete. I for one would not have the President Dine in a New York Hotdog Stand, but nor would I want my President to be so Lucrative nor appear Lucrative to be ridiculed by the Millions of Filipinos who are in midst of Hunger and Poverty as a daily ordeal.

She was suppose to be in Washington, DC for a meeting with President Obama, and after the meeting they should have come home immediately because of the unfortunate turn of events with former President Aquino, which they didn't. Whatever the reason they went side tripping in New York is their own prerogative and sense and definition of statesmanship which non of Filipinos can force them to think about and do.

The House of Represent the Thieves or House of Representative has long been a mockery, and the Presidency has long been in question about whoever is incumbent and his/her sincerity in alleviating Filipinos in the current State of the Nation. The Country is in dire need of serious no bullsh!t governance, whether we will see the light of day is still a far to be seen morning...or in tagalog "Malayo pa ang Umaga"

As they say...wala namang prueba (no Proof no Case), however in logic, the absence of proof do not mean there is no Crime. Only the Hooligans and Devil's Advocates or commonly called Lawyers are the only people who believes them.

God Bless the Philippines and let the Politicians have long long LIfe...like say 500 years, lets see if they can choke on caviar by that age. If we can export politicians like oil, we will be a rich country.

Ok. Let GMA eat at a classy restaurant BUT she dines ALONE on the taxpayers money. She can never rack up a P1M tab by herself.

And you are right. The alalays (hangers-on) should not feel they have the right to eat in a classy joint as well.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I can go for one that has just about everything on it. Sometimes I like them with a little mustard. The most I have every put on a hotdog though, is chili, 3 kinds of cheese, mustard, onions, ketchup, jalapenos, coleslaw, pickles, cucumber cubes, relish...and that's was about it...

Boy are you judgmental. Put me on that list. I don't eat at hot dog stands or much anything else with wheels on it. Cleanliness gets my attention but cheap food products made from parts are nasty.

Comparing Gloria with any American is just silly.

I don't like her but I would rather have her for VP than Palin who is obviously a glory hound. I'm Republican too.

Too many people loathe her that she might just get mauled by passers-by in the likes of a hot dog stand.

people should be able to eat wherever they want whether they be a president or not! I wouldn't mind seeing Obama at a mcdonalds!

I feel you. I don't know, why do we keep on electing people like that? We know they're corrupt. We know they waste tax money, which is OUR money, the money of the hard working people in-and outside of our country.

Because someone might mistake her for Ate Glow.
