can a bad ac pump cause a rattle besides the high pitch squeel?
98 saturn- there is a rattle (rattle snake sounding) under the hood, usually goes away once the car is complertly warmed up. i know i have a bad\broken ac pump because of the squeel when i start the car vut wondering if the rattle could be related as well? noticed the rattle a little before the squeel started.

there is a bearing behind the ac clutch that could fail, but the sound wouldnt just go away when warm.

It sounds like the is a bearring going out. The squeel would be the belt slipping.
Check every thing under the to see if the bearrings are good.
Altinator, power steering, water pump, pluss the ideler.
Make sure you replace the belt also.
