Social Security Question Help?
Have a friend he is 46 works thirty hours a week. His wife passed away can he get her Social Security now? They have no children it is just him, how ever he has children from his first marriage that live with his ex wife can he get them her Social Security?

His children from his first marriage are NOT entitled to any of her SS,they are not her children. He might be able to get a small portion of her SS depending on how long they were married.

I think he can get something of her social security toward her kids. Just until they turn 18, I believe. My dad died years and years ago and my mom FINALLY had the chance to get half of his social security. She couldn't get the whole amount, though. She had to pick between either half of his or the whole amount of hers.
