I've always been a western fan with the Magnificent Seven and the Return of the Magnificent Seven, being two of many that head my list, however my mind always drifts to my early tv day series like: Have Gun Will Travel, The Rebel and Wyatt Earp. On the big screen the Red Badge of Courage was always the favorite until Quigley Down Under came out....

The musical score by Elmer Bernstein was magnificent, too. I seem to remember that we sent for an album offered by the Marlboro cigarette company. They used the music as background for their Marlboro Man television commercials. Other recordings are available, of course, but this vinyl might just be a rare one now, even though the sales were huge at the time.

Great movie with a wonderful cast.

"The Cowboys" with John Wayne and "the guy from Snowy River". the two are great yet Snowy River has a great scene of a guy using a horse down an exceptionally steep hill. I learn it and that's a genuine scene (no longer digital camera tricks). the guy replaced into an excellent rider and the pony replaced into astonishing!

For certain. Also, most of John Wayne's movies. And let's not forget Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns.

Just as much as I liked the Japanese version of The Seven Samurai.

Sure was, along with One Eyed Jacks and Shane - and let me not forget High Noon and Warlock. GREAT westerns!

I'm old enough to remember 'High Noon' and thought it was a great film.

However a more modern favourite of mine has to be 'Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid'.

The music is. My favorite western is "North to Alaska".
