Do you think What Jesus said about "Judging Others" should apply here as well?
Matt. 7:6 Don't waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs. They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you!
Your thoughts?
Blessings Lightning!
How versed are you in God's Word? Matthew is the Gospel Jesus is addressing "Judgment" in. Or are you that much of a novice in the Word to think that the Disciples were not being guided by God from the beginning
Pappy says, "What do you think?"
Well Pappy, I already have my own thoughts about the matter, but if you're well versed enough, perhaps we could gain more wisdom from your thoughts? Or not!
Hello Dead-eye, You noted: (This is actually a reference to people who are untrustworthy by their very nature, unable to look at the world through co-operation and dissemination, instead preferring to be forever combative and competitive.)
I'm always amazed how most people will throw in their terminology and interpretations at a whim just to comment.
This Verse is Jesus telling us specifically that we will be judged in the same manner that we judge others. Also, we now from similar versus that we are NOT to judge non-believers as we do here. We are to leave them for God to deal with . But we are told to help in judgment with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and do this in a loving manner.

Well larry how the heaven are you brother, i'm well thank you very much. The mind of the Lord is realized in Romans 2: 1 Therefore you are in excusable, O man , whosoever you are that judges: for where in you judge another you condemn your self: "Because" you who judge do the same thing, read Through to verse three, Now it is evident that if i Were an adulterer and went around judging adulterers, and they may not know me, but God knows i'm doing the very thing i'm judging others for; " for you that judges do the same thinG"
Now in this very context, Paul has just rendered, the judgment of god to them who God had shown to them and God manifesting to them, but they turned and verse 21 of one, because that when they knew God they glorified not as God, neither were they thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. then Paul goes on to show them the judgment of God about their concupiscence, evil and sexual perversions, all the way to the end of the chapter ending up with our into scripture, Romans 2: 1-3. Now its plain to see there are no one here right with God but head deep in sin.
Now when Paul get to the end of chapter two, he brings the Jew, verse seventeen, and brings the judgment of God about them putting their trust in the law: 'Behold you are a Jew and rest in the law and make your boast of God, and are confident that you are a guide to the blind, a light to them who are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish a teacher to the babes, who have a form of knowledge and of the truth in th elaw. You therefore who teach another teach you yourself? Then he echos with what we opened with you who say a man should no commit adultery, do you commit adultery? and so forth and so on.
Now when Jesus told His disciples to judge, lest they be judged ; ddo you know what they were saying? These boys had not yet been born again, and therefore as we see in Romans 8: 9, they were in the flesh and not the Spirit because Jesus had not yet died on the cross, or ascended , therfore the Spirit had not yet been given, who consummates the new birth. Now the disciple were everyone else, the only difference was they were following Christ but still as everyone else not being born again.
Now in 1 Corinthians when talking to the believers, Paul said we have the mind of Christ, and know the judgment of God, on any given issue or matter, and states that we are going to judge angels, and can't we judge the simpliest matters among men. Now Satan like to use what Jesus said and take out of context, what is being said so no one can say what is right. Now there is a difference between judging and passing a sentence. Now God said they who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God, on the heels of saying what the works of the flesh are in Galatians 5: 19-21. One of then things listed is drunkenness, did i write that scripture, or did God say it? And if i don't drink and i warn in front of some bar, those going in and out, saying drunkenness will not inherit the kingdom of God, thus says the Lord. Now the the bible say that we are ambassadors for Christ? Yes are we speaking and teaching our own agenda, no. Has God made know what the will of the Lord is, yes. Now Jesus told His disciples, Go out into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature; they who believe and are baptized shall be saved, and they who believe not shall be damned. Now what id i go preaching, and one guy says, i don't believe this hog wash, and i said well friend you are damned. On what authority do i say such a thing? And if i don't then why didn't Jesus just keep silent on that part? Because He wanted me to warn them. Every word i speak has the witness of the Spirit. Preaching the gospel is given authority of God, and His Spirit witnesses to the heart of the person i preach to. The Spirit is not seen with the eyes, and i am His voice, anointing my words in the heart. The Spirit is come to convict (convince) the world of sin, and of righteosuness, and of judgment, and he use the believer, to do it through, and the devil's bunch can't stand it. If you can't judge it, you are off line with God, and if you can't judge it , because you do the same thing, is why your off line with God.
Now once you confess your sin to God and deal with it, He is faithful to forgive you, why? because, He loves you and respects the blood of His Son. You are never to bring iit up again, and it doesn't matter how many devils do, it is forever settle with God and He has cleansed you from that unrighteosuness. This also the devil can't stand, and they who are haters of God resent and hate Christians because they believe this. and the haters of God are being just like their daddy.

Jesus is talking here about sharing the Good News with people who are wallowing in their sin. This is not the average person, but people that would be considered the most vile and dirty.
If you look there is a spectrum of people in the Jesus' day. There is those that are righteous, and on the path. Then there are those that are seeking the path that just need some guidance. Then it starts to go downhill.
He talks about the Rich man that dies with Lazarus, and the Farmer that hordes all his crop. Those people receive no mercy. They knowing brought hell to those around them.
The swine that Jesus is talking about is those very same people. And you don't have to judge them. You can see who they are without judging.
God Bless you

I have some "pearls before swine " songs on my iPod I guess that dates me?
Seasons In The Sun Lyrics
Goodbye to you, my trusted friend.
We've known each other since we're nine or ten.
Together we climbed hills or trees.
Learned of love and ABC's,
skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.
Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die,
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Pretty girls are everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the hills that we climbed
were just seasons out of time.
Goodbye, Papa, please pray for me,
I was the black sheep of the family.
You tried to teach me right from wrong.
Too much wine and too much song,
wonder how I get along.
Goodbye, Papa, it's hard to die
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Little children everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the wine and the song,
like the seasons, all have gone.
Goodbye, Michelle, my little one.
You gave me love and helped me find the sun.
And every time that I was down
you would always come around
and get my feet back on the ground.
Goodbye, Michelle, it's hard to die
when all the bird are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
With the flowers ev'rywhere.
I whish that we could both be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the stars we could reach
were just starfishs on the beach

Recent documents show that Pilate had access to Temple Treasury Funds. King Herod replaced the Family that had controlled the Temple Treasury from the time of King Solomon. Pilate used the funds to pay for the Aqua Duct that would bring water into the city. Jesus was aware of the level of corruption with in the Temple Priest Hood. With in the Jewish People of His day. There where nonbelievers and those who were unclean and Gentile. All of them could have been viewed with in the contexts of this passage.

In this case it is a reference to individuals whom are jealous of your spiritual wealth and will condemn your words of wisdom (trampling the "pearls of wisdom"), and then attack you, perceiving you to be some sort of threat.
This is actually a reference to people who are untrustworthy by their very nature, unable to look at the world through co-operation and dissemination, instead preferring to be forever combative and competitive.

Should We Never Judge?
"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment"; and "You have rightly judged."; and "Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?"; and "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves". (Jesus' Words in John 7:24; Luke 7:43, 12:57 and Matt. 23:15)
There is an extremely serious error that is being believed by the vast majority of people caught up in christian religion. This error is literally making those folks unwilling and unable to discern truth. And what is this error? It is believing that all "judgment" is wrong. If this is true, then what is to be made of Jesus' Words above? In the verses above, Jesus clearly commands people to judge, commends people for judging, and judges himself.
The key point to understand is that not all judgment is wrong, just various types of judgment. The types of judgment that are wrong according to Jesus are condemnation, as well as hypocritical and self-righteous judgment. On the other hand, right judgment is commended by Jesus as we see above. Right judgment includes the judging of truth versus falsehood. The sincere, serious and sober judgment of our own sins, as well as the gentle, and compassionate judgment and correction of other's beliefs or sins.

It depends what "Jesus said about judging others." We are called to judge others. We can't just accept everything and everyone. We need to love the person, not the behavior. But we need to be discerning so that we can separate the behavior from the person and we need to discern whether or not someone is acting appropriately.
This verse is basically telling us to use our brains. Don't be stupid and give your most valuable things to people who don't understand. Help them to understand, then give them your most valuable things.

Dogs and swine in this context are those who are hostile to the gospel. Our love for others must not blind us to their hardened rejection of the gospel. Of course, Jesus did not say this to discourage us from sharing the gospel. He says this to call us to discernment, and to encourage us to look for prepared hearts.

I have never been able to reconcile that scripture with Christ's own cavorting among thiefs and prostitures, and the general Christian admonition to save others from sin.
