What's the name of this tree?
I see a lot of these trees around my neighborhood and I would like to add one to my yard...but I don't know what it is. It isn't very tall -- the mature ones look to be around 8-10 feet tall. They have a large circumference around the leafy area, though. The leaves are sort of ficus-looking, dark green, and a little bit shiny. There are yellowish or light-green "berries" on it. The trunk looks sort of ashy and grey (looks like it's peeling). I live in the western U.S, by the way. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

It sounds like the Paper Bark Maple or a River Birch tree. Both of these trees have the peeling bark, the River birch has a light bark. I've posted a couple of links. The first one was the Paper Bark and the bottom one is a River Birch.
