Is the quality of "Good News" getting worse?

Normally, "Government puts down uprising by Islamic fundamentalists" might be reasonably good news.

But when the government turns out to be Hamas, and they are effectively the "moderates" in the situation, it's not as obviously good news after all:

"The group is very critical of Hamas, which seized Gaza in 2007, accusing the Islamist group of not being Islamist enough."

BBC article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/82027...

Any other suggestions for "not quite so good news"?

The price of oil is down...

.. because the industrial economy is so bad no-one wants it at the moment....

Update:

JD, "spin " on news is part of it, and my understanding of the history of the Middle East is nuanced enough to get me in trouble with at least two sides if not more!

But more broadly, yes, I was looking for an appreciation of "double-edged" stories. If car production shoots up: great for employment, not perhaps for pollution and fossil fuel consumption.

The "good" or "bad" aspect of news is always relative, juxtaposed either with expectations or fears.

I would add that it's also bad news that there are uprisings by Islamic fundamentalists that require being "put down" in the first place.

    Though provoking question.

Hamas won an election in 2007 didn't they.

Also i would say that the western media plays out each stoyy the way they want us to believe it is. Most of it being lies by the way, Especially when it comes to wars the UK and America are involved in

you mean like there is an up turn in the economy. we now have over two million unemployed sort of thing and are likely to have more, i must admit the slant and then the punch lines are amazing sometimes
