Do right wingers only drive on toll roads?

Wow, sport, you are so crafty. Yeah, I get it, you can't call Comrade Obama a socialist if you drive on roads, call the police, call the fire department, etc. Wrong, sport. Limited government foresees government performing certain, LIMITED functions, namely those that can only be solved by the collective. Roads, police, fire, fit neatly into the definition of limited government. Ask Olbermann for another talking point, this one is wrong, old and tired to boot.

Roads are maintained by state and local governments. There's nothing wrong with that. Those governments are better able to meet the needs of there people. Plus, people can move to other states if they don't agree with their local and state governments. They are also required to keep a balanced budget each year and can't just print money.

It's the federal government that should have as little control as possible. They don't have to follow any rules and there's no way that they can make 1 decisions that satisfies the needs of all people in all states. That's exactly why they aren't supposed to. State governments are supposed to play the largest role in running their states.

If you want to get into interstate roads, I'd be fine with toll roads only. Just make sure you give me all of my tax money back that has been going to fund the roads. It would work out best for me anyway since I don't often need to use them. Good idea.

I am not a right winger, I am a libertarian. But I do envision a day in which roads are not government-run. In the mean time, however, since I have money stolen from me by the government, I may as well use some of the products created with my stolen money.

Interstate commerce, which includes roads, is actually something the Federal Government is supposed to do. Highways actually fall under the Department of Defense, which is again the Federal Governments job. The rest of the roads are maintained at state and local levels.

Health care, wellfare and social security is not the Federal Governments job.
