How do you get dogs to stop doing their business on the deck?
We have 3 medium/large dogs and they have recently decided they prefer to do their business on our deck. There isn't an easy way to keep them off the deck because is doesn't have railings- it is a short deck that takes up about half our yard. They do it most on the posts of the pergola. Is there anything I can spray or sprinkle on the deck that will keep them from leaving their puddles on the deck?

Go to one of the pet shops and get 2 pee posts. Don't worry they don't smell like pee or poo. Drive them into the ground, into the area you want them to go. They will be attracted to the smell of the pee post.
They are not expensive to buy, I think I paid under £10 which is around $20 your money.

First, you will would desire to verify which you thoroughly clean the climate on the deck the place she has long previous (Nature's Miracle is a huge product, because of the fact the enzymes injury down the proteins interior the waste components). when you consider that she is used to happening white rocks, why not make somewhat spot interior the backyard with white pea gravel for her to bypass on? Take her outdoors to that section suitable after she wakes up from her nightime drowsing or a sleep, quarter-hour or so after eating, and after heavy enjoying. do not say something to her, play together with her, etc. until she is going on the rocks. you ought to take her outdoors to that section on her leash in the commencing up. as quickly as she is going, compliment compliment compliment!!!! (**you are able to take a number of her previous poo and positioned somewhat interior the white gravel section so she would be ready to scent her very own "markings") There are some sprays so which you are able to use to charm to her to bypass on the backyard, yet i think of it may take the intermediate step of a small white pea gravel section for her to get used to going outdoors. solid success!

They are marking their territory and you could take their heads and stick their noses close to the puddle and tell them no.j sometimes you can find sprays at pet store that have a pee scent that you can spray on something that you prefer they pee on.

It sounds like they are marking their territory because they can smell the other dogs wee on there. My vet suggested using a non ammonia bleach to clean whatever my pup was weeing on then he wouldn't smell the wee he did before and think that was his spot to wee. It might be worth calling them to a spot you want them to wee and when you see them do it, say "wee wees" or "toilet" or whatever word you want to use to tell them to go to the toilet, then they will associate when you let them outside and say that word, to go to that spot to do it. it takes time and lots of patience but it works! Also, I took a bit of my puppies poo and put it in the place I wanted him to go, when he went out he smelt his poo and did it near the old one! Now I clear it up straight away and he goes in the same place. NEVER EVER rub there noses in it or push their heads to it, this is cruel and does nothing but make them think that pooing in the first place is wrong, this may make them start hiding their poo and going to the toilet where you can't see it, or even worse, some dogs start eating their own poo to hide it. Good luck, hope it helps.
