How do I assign unallocated hard drive space to the C:\ partition?

My Drive C: partition shows 48.8G while there is 407G of unallocated space on the hard drive. How do I enlarge my drive C: partition using the unused space?

This can be a real trick. You cannot use disk management to re-allocate unallocated hard disk space. You have to have a 3rd party software, the best one is Symantec's Partition Magic 8. This software is capable of merging the allocated with the unallocated space to create one contiguous partition. Just be aware that there is always the risk of data loss. So before you do this, back up your computer!
