Town Hall meetings and our President?

It's not just you. Questions are known ahead of time and the crowds are hand picked.

I don't think they are. I believe that people are polite when dealing with

the president ( for the most part). I think it's the office that commands the respect regardless of who holds it. I was not a Bush fan but had I ever had an opportunity to ask him about a few things I would have felt

privileged to do so.

Senators and Congressmen should be addressed in a polite civil way

but there position just doesn't command the respect that the Presidents does.

i got invite to a town hall meeting with Sen Brown from Ohio and it was orderly and quiet and i didn't notice any pre screened also I never got a chance to ask a question either

I'm sure there is no way you can actually ask your own question. Pre-selected people are assigned questions, or else Obamas teleprompter would get confused

I don't think they are, but if they are, would you be surprised? Presidents have been screening questions since Eisenhower. Heck, Dubya used to screen everybody who wanted to get in to those things.
