The EPA lists the two main causes of rising green house gases as burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. And guess what smarty pants.. slash and burn farming in the rain forest is done mainly to produce VEG!

According to the EPA livestock enteric fermentation (farts) is tied with paddy rice farming as a green house gas producer.

Livestock production is not the # 1 cause, climate change has been going on for millions of years before the production of livestock. all through out history it is recorded that as the earth gets hotter so does the greenhouse gas concentrations increase. naturally this occurs when volcanoes explode but since the last few centuries greenhouse gas concentrations have skyrocketed due to human activity. a science lesson for you all... people breath in oxygen and breath out co2, a greenhouse gas. trees breath in co2 and breath out oxygen and who or what is the leading cause of deforestation, you got it humans and what machine sputs enormous amounts of co2, cars right driven by billions of people every single day. so who or what is causing greenhouse gasses to rise and ultimately the climate of the earth again?

Also another fallacy is that livestock require high usage of water - farming practices in desert areas and Australia have shown significant numbers of livestock can rely on rainfall based water alone

They didn't pollute the air or water. They didn't leave garbage laying around, that would sit there for hundreds of years before it could be absorbed back into the earth. WE are the livestock who is the problem!! We are the ones cutting down trees and poisoning the land. We are the ones who are draining the very earth that we walk on. Because that's not the #1 cause of climate CHANGE. Volcanoes are responsible for the release of tons of carbon into the atmosphere.
