Why do the Democrats keep saying Republicans are obstructing Health Care Reform, they can pass it if they want?

They have Super Majorities in Both Houses of Congress and a President that would sign a bill for a 10 Trillion Dollar Single Payer system tomorrow if that's what they want, just pass it already if it's so important

I think cbmttek has it right. One Democrat (I forget which one) said, "If I vote for this bill, I will lose my reelection race."

The biggest problem healthcare reform has is that it has not been marketed properly. We don't really know what will be in the bill and how the "reformed" bill will work.

Obama has said his plan would cost $1 trillion over 10 years; the CBO said it will cost $1.6 trillion over those 10 years. Obama said more recently that his plan will save us $500 billion per year; the CBO said the savings will be less than $1.0 billion.

It's clear that nobody has a handle on what this reform will cost.

Nancy Pelosi said I am un-American if I oppose the pending House bill, even though I don't know and can't find out what is in it now and what will be in it later.

Our elected officials have earned our distrust. They've got it. The Democrats want to be able to take the credit if things work out well and blame Republicans if they don't.

The dems are trying to do everything at once and they aren't spending the time on any issue to get it right. Why are they trying to do everything at once? Because they only have one term to reverse course in our country and they want to do just that. When (If) the health care bill passes, people see what actually happens to their health care, that will be the death knoll for the current administration. One term. Yes the political gun is to their head and I for one hope they do pull the trigger. RIP or good riddance to bad rubbish. No-one read the stimulus and AIG bonuses were in there, along with a bunch of other trash. Cap & Trade passed the house without anyone even having a complete copy of the bill--much less reading it. Yeah this is the perfect way to run a country. Complain about Bush all you want, but he wasn't so arrogant as to impose all these stupid arbitrary and bullsh## deadlines like Obama has done. and don't you think the dems would have screamed "foul" if he had. You better know it. United Socialist America. get ready...it will be here before we know it.

They are not bipartisan, this stuff happening now is POLICY, and a means to get there. There are no parties...only the illusion....look deep into current history and you will find that each time this type of thing is going on...the other hand is elsewhere performing "magic"

take for example line items within bills...they know...it is called forced consent...you only have two choices, you take the lesser of two evils...this is also forced consent...

and everyone walks away either thinking they got a great deal, or the short end (of the stick)...but in the end, everyone got the short end of the stick...it is only a matter of time until they take the stick too.

    food for thought:

1938 Stare Decesis, Doctrine of Necessity, Clean Hands Doctrine, Hegemony and Media Studies, Hegalian Diaclectic....and of course, good ole Hitler....you can see Hegal prominantly with his regime....

we are "nice" and civilized is all, so our administration learned to not raise their hands, and hail anyone, or teach us to hail anyone they learned through the years, to be stealthy, calm, quiet, and rather than gassing people, they use the Clean Hands Doctrine which is not only necessary, but they can blame it on the various "faults" which also helps to create a more secular society when they fear monger various individuals...we fear each other now....

We are pit against each other (feminism-gender) so we are pretty much fair game...

It was the democratic party who came up with the KKK, and also the same ones who came up with the affirmative action and other social programs to combat racism....and now, the tides are turned as they pit us against each other, so the democrats blame the republicans for racism, and sexism...

I wonder why anyone would create a problem, then create a solution, then start blaming the other guy for the problem that does not exist anymore? (Hegalian Diaclectic is what keeps this machine running...creates revenue for the state)

My Opinion is that they like complaining more then they like DOING! some thing about it.

That is what there commercials were mostly about (what the Republicans faults are)

I think they don't know how to do some thing, they only know how to complain. they need to change their attitude NOW and focus more on DOING before they crash!(the plain is crashing, "it's the Republicans fault!") what in the world are Democrats doing? they should tell us that!

"when you buy a house, you buy it AS IS."

And because the Democrats won the election BIG TIME there are vary little Republicans left to do ANY thing about ANY thing.

(Yo Democrats IT'S ALL YOURS are you going to fly the plain or not?)

They can pass it in the house, they have the votes. They just need more time to decide what details to vote on. It is the senate that is the problem. Republicans only have to convince one democrat to vote against, and it is defeated. That is why they are looking for policies that republicans might support.

It looks like it's coming to that. The party of NO is of no help and I don't care how many people the insurance companies pay to cause trouble,72% of the people want change from what we have now! Also, many people are too rich or stupid to know what's going on!Health care should be a right and not for only profit! If the Republicans don't start helping, they will have less than one in five voters saying they belong to the party of"NO"

Now they are talking reconciliation so they only need 51 votes. The trouble is that Democrats aren't buying this either but the Liberals and Media are pushing hard to have single payer.

Because the "blue dogs" are terrified of that abomination, knowing that, if they vote for it they will most likely get dumped by the voters. Libs blame Republicans in a vain attempt to hide the fracturing in their own party.

Dems are the reason the economy is so screwed up! They have controlled congress since 2006!

Republicans do not want to help the 50 million Americans who cannot afford health insurance, and, in fact, are willing to block the Democratic proposal aimed at improving the healthcare system and reducing costs.

Democrats were TRYING to involve ALL Americans, yet Republicans pay protestors to stir up trouble and make noise at town meetings, which were intended to inform and listen.

Republicans spread lies about "death squads", mandatory public insurance, and how bad public insurance is in Canada and Europe, which, in fact, are all untrue.

The GOP do not care about reforming health care cost abuse. Their ONLY goal is to "stop Obama" !

Dems, with a majority, should thus stop the town halls, stop trying to listen and think rationally, stop being so nice.

Dems now need to ignore all the inane Con rants and lies, and just pass a reasonable, logical healthcare reform bill. That's why you were elected so overwhelmingly! C'mon, get on with your duly-elected jobs !
