Did people coin the term "kool aid" in order to stimulate the economy?

Every time I hear someone use that term to insult someone on the other side, I feel like they're using product placement and want me to buy cool refreshing drinks.

    No.

It's been around since Jim Jones had his followers drink poisoned KoolAid in the 1970s.

  • No, it is a reference as to how Proud, or maybe even Jealous, Jim Jones would be that someone other than Him got otherwise rational people to accept a life of idiocy though one word.."Change".

No, it's a reference to the Jonestown massacre.

It has come into popularity as Bill O'Reilly does. He uses it to refer to people who let others do their thinking for them. He has one of the fastest growing liberal audiences and that is because he does not expect you to agree with everything he says, or he will assume you are a koolaid drinker also.
