When did they make sarcasm a violation of the guidelines of Yahoo! Answers?
Please READ THE Guidelines... http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines...
Let us have a quick look at the guidelines of Yahoo! Answers:
Be courteous, Be a good citizen, Cite your sources, Ask clearly, Categorize correctly, No venting, ranting or using hate speech, No chatting or otherwise violating the question-and-answer format, No being mean or obscene, No exploiting the community, No cheating, No violating of the law, No behaving maliciously, No misusing Answers, Don’t do harm, Age restriction of 13+.
Nope… I see neither “Sarcasm” nor “Opinions Different From Yours” as violations…
So, question #2... How do you justify all the "reporting" that goes on?

I have stated that there is going t be a cleaning taken place, and there are Jw's at the helm inside the network of answers and don't like that they are losing their audience, to true Christians.
The DA has been informed and is gathering up evidence.
Yesterday i asked if the spirit of the world is trying to unite the religions of the world, in the belief, that we all worship the same God; and we as christians believe and follow Christ, who also said: " God is a spirit, and they who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth" John 4: 24 No other religions preach about being born again and then point out the other comforter, the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth, And when you enjoin Romans 8: 9 which reveals to the believer, that Christ in fact validates , that we are not in the flesh but are in the spirit. thus we are able do worship God in spirit and in truth.
The other religions have not these claims and truth, and are simply trying to politicize and deceive. Jesus warned us ; Let no man deceive you...

I've gotten dinged a few times that way (as my answers frequently include sarcasm.) I usually just appeal and the vast majority of the time get the answer reinstated. Supposedly, YA keeps track of such things and the report monkey eventually gets nailed - whether that actually ever happens or not is another thing altogether.

I have been getting a big rash of violation notices lately from posting a differring opinion about Islam! I will post my link to my references, which scientifically points out that Muhammed showed ALL the clinical signs of a certain epilepsy, which can cause delusions and such- and I get reported instantly for it.
Soon, this Monkey will go to heaven again and have to be re-born.

I lost my beloved account of 3 years because I didn't answer the way the asker thought I should. "sigh" I'm not over it yet. I only had one violation on the question and they yanked my account. And I can't find justice. When appealed it was also rejected. The comment wasn't against any guidelines I've read. I was just a bit sarcastic.

Sarcasm can very easily be taken as insulting other members, a clear violation.
You can still be sarcastic, but you have to do it in a way that isn't clearly insulting. You'll probably still be reported, this section seems to be bad for that, but you can fight it if the insult isn't visible,
Think of it as a challenge.

I think I may have gotten reported a few times because I was posting comments in my questions directly to other users -- in response to what they said. I think that goes under the "no chatting" segment.

When the sarcasm is meant to be rude and demeaning.
I have seen several, most frequently in the religion & spirituality category.
Yahoo owns the toys, they can pick up and leave whenever they want.
We can play along....or not.

I know i have gotten my response rejected bc i gave my opinion. How stupid. Everybody is entitled for their opinion. Just bc that one person didnt like it doesnt mean that they have to report you. That is so immature.
