Why do so many christians repeatedly post blatant untruths about science?
From an answer posted earlier ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200908... )
"The Laws of science according to science states they were always there and cannot be change. Evolution states it is always there and nothing exploded and made everything. That is extremely unscientific be breaks many laws, including the Laws of Conservation of Energy and Mass.
The Laws of Conservation of Energy and Mass are the two basic laws of sciences that you will study in an academic science class in high school because all reactions, whether it be simple as turning a light on/off or burning a piece of paper on fire, follow these laws. The theory of evolution breaks these two laws making it 100% impossible to happen."
Almost every sentence is either inaccurate, or a flat out untruth.
Do the people who post this nonsense realize it's false, or do they just repeat what they have heard without trying to understand it?
In the long run, do these tactics really help the cause of converting as many as possible?

"Debating Creationists on the topic of Evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." - Scott D. Weitzenhoffer

It's weak egos. A weak ego needs other people to believe the same things it does—it's own beliefs are not really that strong.
It's tough to notice on this website, but there actually are plenty of Christians who don't question science, and the truth of it doesn't threaten their faith.
As for the above, I'm not even sure what it means, because the grammar is so bad.

What's so sad about that post is that it seems they actually did research. Not actual research on the subject they're trying to talk about, of course, they provide sources from creationist sites, even Hovind. Dang, YE creationists are stupid. I think they just repeat, without trying to understand.

Dreamstuff,
I wouldn't swear to it, but, the answer sounds like it's from a high school kid to me, not an expert.
See, I KNOW my science is rusty after, uh, a good while out of school now, and little time to keep up on the flood of "news" that's spewed out. Much less to translate it to something I can actually comprehend, So, even where I don't believe the science, I try not to go there in my answers much.
Other people may not know better.

I love when theists use arguments that imply evolution includes the beginning of the universe. It makes me chuckle. Having a brain is quite a nice feeling, I must say. :)

Apparently, atheists are removing the symptoms but not the cause.
@Jennyish: I don't see how the statement was too broad. You're not one of the 'many Christians' Dreamstuff talks about.

chrisitians respond to fear. They fear god, hell, and not putting enough money in the church donation.
Atheism replaces fear with freedom.
So, the heart of christianity is pure masochistic fear.
