About how much does birth control cost a month without insurance?
I have health insurance (blue cross), but i'm 17 and my parents are not supportive of me wanting birth control, and won't hear my case, so I'd be paying myself without their knowledge. Also, i've never had a pelvic exam, so how much would that cost? There is a planned parenthood where I live, as well as other women's health clinics.
From research i've done by myself, the pill, the shot, or the patch seem most practical for me, so I'm asking about how much each of those would cost.

Though I do not support you lying/deceiving your parents, I must applaud your ability to make the responsible decision (it's what I would want my daughter to do.)
Do you have a planned parenthood in your area? Or maybe a woman's clinic. They usually work on a "whatever you can afford" scale. It's the best I can offer and I hope it helps. I am going to have to give you the rest of the speech though...Condoms...use them. A baby takes 18 years to get rid of...HIV/AIDS gets rid of you.

Planned parenthood is your cheapest option. The cost there usually varies depending on how much your income is. You should be able to get it for free, or almost free there.
As for your woman's health clinics, if you can get a copy of your parents' insurance card, you can make your own appointment. They may not be happy about it, but if you feel that you need to get examined (if you're having sex, you do!) and you don't want to deal with planned parenthood, it is an option. If you have their insurance card (or if your pharmacy has their insurance on file), you can get your prescription for birth control filled using their insurance. Insurance companies don't send your parents anything stating what medicines were filled using the card.

If there's a free clinic near you that you can go to, go there. It doesn't cost anything for a pap or birth control. The only thing you might want to check on is where you're 17. It might be that at age 16 you can go without parental consent, but it also might be 18. Call around first and you might also want to maybe go to one that's not the obvious choice in case someone sees you that will tell your parents they saw you there. Also, I'd go for the shot so they don't find your pills.

Planned Parenthood should take care of everything for no cost. Go there & get an exam & the pill.

just go to your local health clinic and they will give you birth control for free. just tell them you dont have insurance. thats what i did a few years ago they will keep giving it to you for however long you need it. but i think you could actually go to your dr office and tell them you want birth control without your parents knowing, they should give it to you though i dont know how much it would cost. hope this helps!
