Whats more important? Your country or your religion?

I would say my country is more important to me. I am religious and I tolerate all thoughts all religions and atheism as well, but I would give my life for my country before my religion.

Update:

wow is there any religious person that puts their country before their religion?

seriously i think religion is a big mess. its our countries that are keeping us alive. i can give examples of countless god loving people that die in tragedies.

Well I say that is entirely up to you to decide. What do you prefer? God or your country?

I am a Muslim, and I don't want to sound like I"m saying Islam is better than any other religion ( respect them all) but in Islam you are allowed both. You believe in God, Pray, Submit to Him, all of that. But if you die for the protection of your country, you immediately go to Heaven. And also if you die for a family member or good friend you go to heaven, but that doesn't answer your question at all. :D

    Hope I helped!!

God is more important than it all. I would give my life for Jesus Christ before I would give my life for anything. Being religious is different than living a life for Christ. There are a lot of "religious" people that are only going through the motions. I wouldn't give up my life for the church, I would give up my life for Christ. And as far as giving up my life for my country, this country is going downhill fast. The gov't doesn't care about the ones that are fighting for it.

So far, my Country is not asking me break any of the 10 Commandments.

The day it does, I'll lay down my life if it is necessary to do the Will of God in keeping His commandments.

I love God more than my Country.

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

Jesus said to give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's.

Your country cannot save you only Jesus can. And BTW religion is man made. God is the creator not a religion.

Neither. A world without god or country would be a peaceful one.

One world, one people and one government to pay for it!

Our Lord Jesus Christ Son of God has already told us in the following verses

    Mathew 22: 16 - 21

And they sent to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Master, we see that you are true, and that you are teaching the true way of God, and have no fear of anyone, because you have no respect for a man's position.

Give us, then, your opinion of this: Is it right to give tax to Caesar, or not?

But Jesus saw their trick and said, Oh false ones, why are you attempting to put me in the wrong?

Let me see the tax money. And they gave him a penny.

And he said to them, Whose is this image and name on it?

They say to him, Caesar's. Then he said to them, Give to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

As we know that God has made man in His image. So, Jesus tells us to give ourselves to God because we are image of God and give our money (taxes etc.) to the country. In short, give yourself to God which belongs to God only and give to your country that belongs to the country.

Well neither really exist outside of people heads, so it's kinda like asking which do you prefer out of dragons and unicorns.

    I'll say dragons :)

I'd say for a person to safeguard the two is their right, duty and act of preserving their honour.
