The mind begins at self awareness or consciousness of the self as a separate being. It is contained outside of the brain as an electromagnetic field, or "Holographic Universe". It can best be seen in comparison to people who seem to be totally conscious, but are living their lives completely at the mercy of their environment. The mind is more concerned with forethought, whereas the brain is restricted to the present for survival reasons. The brain is controlled by emotions, and the mind is above emotions. Everyone has a mind, but some are more in touch with it than others.

Mind is but a tool, a wonderful, powerful tool: slave of the 'self', never the other way! master the mind, through great control, discipline and some understanding of the way the mind works for you (important: the mind works for you, you are the master), AND YOU HAVE A GREAT RESOURCE totally at your disposal to do a lot of things for you. "mind matters", matters a lot!

Mind is minding anything. This habit of minding starts from the day you have born. Mind is memory. It's also like a hard-disk of a computer. It can store only limited things. The forgotten things are coming to mind through spirits from outside. A human being is a combination of several spirits. All knowledge, feelings and whatever you have gathered in your mind are only spirits or invisible elements. If these spirits flee then your mind will become empty and you will return to the initial stage. I mean, you will become almost like a newly born baby.

It is the creative principle within us. Our thoughts are not our mind, they are codes/signals that our mind likes to play with. Some would argue that god is the universal mind that created this world and that this world is just an idea of god's. So we'd be living in god's thoughts or dreams... but then again if we are able to have thoughts of our own, wouldn't that make us gods as well... can't we create worlds on our own? Its not a coincidence that there's magic in imagination.

    Good question.

I have a related question still open on here as to the listing of mind, force-energy, personality and spirit Presence Circuits in order of highest to lowest reality to us out here in space-time. So, by answering this question, I don't want to state all of that here until all have responded to my question, if you don't mind. Ha ha

Mind is not soul, not identity, not spirit and not personality; all are very different and unique. Higher mind levels in humans are used to adjust spiritual values with scientific physical facts out here in space-time. Higher mind is closely related to logic, wisdom, spirit and philosophy. There are many levels of mind; from nearly automatic lower vegetable and lower animal mind circuits to the human mind which has also the two highest adjutant mind circuits from the Holy Spirit Mind; they are known as the mind-spirit of worship and wisdom. Wisdom is the highest; this allows a human to be able to freely choose to worship God or not. If the Holy Spirit were to have worship higher than wisdom; then we would all want to worship God continually and do nothing else. The result would be no drinking or eating of food or sleeping; and physical death of the human body would result in about five to seven days certainly !

Being a Jesusonian Christian, I like to share this on mind:

If you can not master your own mind, you may freely ask for the higher Mind of our Master Jesus Christ Who is fully here in Spirit.

Peace and progress in Spirit and in Truth !

G That's a really good question because none of the scientists I regularly listen to, Including Eric Candle, insist on knowing the answer.

Our metaphysical consciousness and experience which is separate from that of our physical brain which interprets the physical world to create an objectively physical and subjectively metaphysical experience.

Quite complicated, but it is some form of 'Dualism'

You can search more on the theory.

Mind is an inner equipment which is given to us to operate in this World. Mind has four components viz mind (Manna), intelligence, Chitta and Anhkar.

Typical worldly mind runs on predefined grooves and have a set pattern to follow. Throughout the life, consciously or unconsciously, mind is striving hard to attain happiness and avoid non-happiness. By definition happiness and non-happiness is conducive and non-conducive environment respectively, which varies from mind to mind i.e. past conditioning.

We are endowed with body, senses, mind, intellect and memory, which make us capable of interacting with Worldly objects, ideas and situations etc. The proximity of an object generates knowledge about the object. Then mind starts contemplation and identifying itself with the object by projecting a complete future (happiness or conducive environment), which is the seed of the desire. Further desire manifests and mind decides to attain the desired object. In order to attain the object, mind exerts its influence on the gross equipment (body) and forces it to take series of action to attain the desired object. The result of this action is a mix of conducive or non-conducive environment in varying ratio.

Now the achieved conduciveness will either consolidates predefined likes, or creates new liking for the attained object. Likes give rise to attachment to the object along with fear of losing it, which further gives rise to the greed i.e. to have more. When mind repeatedly moves on the new pattern, it becomes a habit, wherein mind unconsciously flows in the predefined groves.

Any obstruction in achieving the desired conducive environment or facilitation on the way to non-conducive environment is dealt with worry and anger, which leads to distortion of knowledge and loss of focus. In this state, mind losses its power to discriminate, which leads to downfall and non-fulfillment of the objective. This outcome further amplifies the non-conducive environment and mind gets trapped in the vicious circle, leading to greater pain and misery.

The philosophical being; thinking in nature that enables you to make sense out of the..not-senseful things. I think it's basically the 'YOU' part.
