Why is every a poser? What ever happened to originality?

I don't get it!

It's like everyone tries really hard to be like someone they see on TV &/or the internet. Like MTV is airing all the music I have been listening to since I was like 10... why can't they stay with what THEY made popular (the whole Britney Spears, Eminem crud..)

It honestly seems like everyone is trying to be, what some people call, "scene" a.k.a. dressing like a retard to get attention. Now, don't get me wrong, it was cool- at first, now everyone in the world thinks that Hot Topic is UBER cool and just "so fantablous!!"

omfg. give me a frickin' break. Not to mention, last time i checked, vampires were supposed to be dark and scary (have you ever actually read Bram Stoker's Dracula or Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire?) Now they have turned in this whole glittery fad which is COMPLETELY stupid.

Not to mention everything as gone mainstream now, I about cried when i heard how bad Metallica's "Black" was... compare that to Master of Puppets and it is complete ****.

Am I alone on this?

    You're not alone.

    I've always been original.

But one year I kinda gave into what my friends were into-SCENE.

I tried it, but I didn't feel like myself.

Once I added a bit of me and took away a lot of falseness I felt better.

I guess some people feel comfortable being like everyone else-I DON'T.

I don't worry about what people have to say about me. I get pretty for myself and I have my OWN style. not scene, not preppy, not emo, not hippy......ME.

Some people feel comfortable being themselves others feel like being like everyone else.

They'll grow out of it anyways one day.

    MUSIC wise I like origniallity.

My friend and I are probably the only FEW people who love classic rock and don't listen to any of today's crappy rock and hip hop.

    So WHAT!??

    it's feels great.

just keep being yourself-screw everyone else.

I make friends with everyone, scene, preppy, gothic, what ever.

Are you critical?.......Everyone appears to be making an attempt to carve out a few spot on this global that claims "Originality". Walk into any mall and simply "humans watch". I agree, there are a few matters like insane piercings and severe hair colours/cuts, however in spite of a sea of tattoos, man or woman make those matters their possess. Even should you watch skate boarders. They attempt to create a few new means of doing it their means! Life is usually a experience!!!! If you're most effective "seeing" the posers, appear deeper. Enjoy!

it's best to just not get involved. you'll be more original when you just let people be whatever they wish to be while you just skip on with life. I mean it's ok to look back and laugh about it (Southpark does it), but we can't change the world by complaining you know. Like the saying goes, " you know you're hipster when you complain about other hipsters", I think that's how it goes
