in the context : 12 days left, it means in french "12 jours restants".

I think
"plus que 12 jours" is OK too:
"plus que 12 jours avant fermeture"
in this case "s" in "plus" is silent.

To complete what the others have already said : 2nd is "deuxième" 12th is "douzième" You are right, to pronounce, the end is the same, but the beginning is a little different. Because in that case, the "x" in "deuxième" is like a z. Your problem is that the sound "eu" doesn't exist in english (for 2nd). "eu" is something like the "u" in nurse. And in "douzième" the sound is "ou" like in "two".
