where can i sell good parts of my totaled 1990 mercedes?
My daughter totaled my 1990 300e 4matic mercedes-benz.
I can pay to have the towing agency take it to the junk yard where they'll scrap it for the good parts. The impact came on the passenger side of the car. The driver's side and interior are both in excellent shape, but because of frame damage on the passenger side it cannot afford to fix it up and it will not drive again. However, there are a lot of good parts and was thinking of taking those parts and selling them over the internet before I give it to the junk yard. Can anyone name some good places online, or not that I can sell used parts in good condition? I live in Seattle. Would craigslist work? And is this even a good decision?

I also live in the Seattle area, and I purchased both of my MB's (1988 & 1989 300SE) off craigslist. I am constantly on craigslist looking for good deals on MB parts and there are always numerous listing for MB's parting out. Just do a little research on craigslist to see what other people are asking for similar parts and price them accordingly if you want to sell them pretty quickly. Some people are so off base with what they think the parts are worth and they keep re-listing and re-listing in the hopes they can get what they are asking for. You have to realize time is money and there will always be someone else with similar parts if you are willing to be patient. If you do not want to deal with parting out the car, then I would probably contact Pull-a-Part in Lynnwood or Tacoma to see what they would be willing to pay.

I hope your daughter is okay...
Craigslist is good but don't limit yourself to just one site. Try posting on several active Benz forum sites as well.
I would do the same as mentioned by one of the posts and not bother with shipping any items. Personally, I would stick with pick-up sales only as that is much easier and much less hassle.

I have a friend who sells parts from an old van. He has been very successful using Craigslist. So I would recommend it, based on his success. Good luck!
(P.S. He doesn't fool with mailing/shipping anything. He sells to local people (San Jose, Ca.) and they come and pick it up.)

Yes I got so many replies to an add for my Bus that it was the way to go.Craig's list. Do the selling as Craig's list suggest.

You're wasting your time. Take whatever a local salvage yard will give you.
