I need advice: Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando?
Tex: It hasn't finished downloading yet, I checked the video rental place and they didn't have it. I may have to get it from Amazon, but I will. I rewatched Incident at Oglala though and it breaks my heart even more to know Leonard is still in Prison.
I've been to Disney World many times (I'm from Wisconsin) and I love it. I'm heading down to Orlando on a spur of the moment trip in 3 weeks.
I see so much hoopla about Universal, which is better?
And if you've only been to Universal, was it fun?
I'm only going to get tickets this time for 2 days, so doing both parks isn't in the financial plans.
Whoa, my added details ended up in the wrong place...weird. Sorry about that.

Jenn, I live about 35 minutes north of Disney. Disney is the only place to go. Universal is okay but Disney is the most wonderful place on earth. Of course being that you've been to Disney I don't have to tell you that.
Most of the parks down here are hurting for business so it's possible to get some deals. They are more willing to give better accommodations just to get your business. Even though I live here I've found it better to book through the internet rather than going through some travel agency. It's cheater plus you can pick exactly what you want. Agencies tend to try and make you compromise which is ridiculous.

Hi there, I am from Wi too and we go down to Disney at least 3 times a year. I don't go to Universal because it is nothing I am interested in. I went a few years ago because I had a free ticket and I will never be back. It was dirty and loud and the guests and employees were rude and obnoxious. Unfortunately Universal seems to attract a different crowd than Disney and it is not the crowd I want to be around.
If you like roller coasters and being treated like crap, head on over, you may really enjoy yourself, but I will stick with Disney!
What about Sea World? They've added some new rides and their shows are pretty cool.

Umm I have been too both and it really depends on what u are looking for. If you are looking for attractions and spending time wit a family then go Disney World. If you just want too do some sight seeing then go too Universal. I personally thought both were quite fun so u cant go wrong with either. Plus you have been too Disney so i recomend going to Universale. Its great. BTW I haven't got the time too ever say this and it is late but congrats on getting married. :P
Phew finally said it

We (hubby and I) personally LOVE Universal Studios and Island's of Adventure. It's a heck of a lot cheaper then Disney. We like it also because my hubby is a roller coaster fanatic and I hate them, so there is stuff for me to do while he rides the coasters. I love how the rides are movie/Tv themed. Another reason why I say Universal is because you've all ready been to Disney. Might as well try something new.

Universal Studios of course :) Its so much better, I live really close and we barely ever go to Disney. Island of Adventures is a really fun part if you like roller coasters etc. but if you like simulated rides go to the main park if you can hit up both. Plus, City Walk is right there so you can do the hardrock cafe or the night clubs there which are super fun.

Since you already been to Disneyworld, I suggest trying something new and going to Universal Studios. If you don't like Universal, then you won't have to go back, but you might end up loving it there. I've never been to Universal Studios Orlando, I've been to the Hollywood and that ones fun, but it's a little different. I'm more of a Disneyland person and I've never been to Disneyworld, so I would go to Disneyworld, but only because I've never been there. Good luck and have fun!

Go buy "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2009". This was the best $20 I spent for my family's July 2008 vacation to Disney. The book contains reviews for restaurants, hotels, and attractions on and off Disney property. However, the best part of the book are the touring plans! The plans give you step by step instructions on where to go and when to go in order to avoid the longest lines. For example: "Soarin" in EPCOT is one of the most popular rides in all of Disney. A 2-hour wait in line is not uncommon to partake in this awesome experience. However, using the touring plan in the book and maximizing Disney's "Fast Pass" system, we were able to ride it twice in a row without waiting in line one time! By the way, if you don't know what the "Fast Pass" system is, then definitely get the book or ask us that are in the know at yahooanswers. It's fast, easy, and one of the few FREE things in Disney. Yes, it is absolutely FREE! Go out and buy the book today. I promise you will not be disappointed. Have fun!

If you are bringing a child under 7, it's Disney.
If you are simply going as adults, (or with a child over 8), go to Universal.
It's much cheaper (we paid $300 for 4 whole week passes, Disney was $300 for 4 day passes), there are more rides as well.
The Spiderman ride is AMAZING.
They have (unfortunately) a jump ahead pass that allows people to go into an express line, so unfortunately, if you want a lot of rides, you have to play their game.
I loved Universal and enjoyed Disney simply because of my daughter's enjoyment.

I LOVE DISNEY WORLD first of all. Okay, if you want a little bit of more intense rides, UNIVERSAL is the place 2 go.
Themes are better at Disney World but both places are great!
Sooo its your choice really, if you want bigger rides or themed fun.
I would say you could try universal if u want, but you should go to disneyworld again too! (: i love it sooooooo much
