Why am I going to hell?

All I've done is think for myself. Why do I have pay lip service to him and his son and beg not to be tortured eternally.

What sin could a mortal person possibly commit to deserve eternal punishment?

Nothing proves the fallacy of religion more than this. To suppose that an all-powerful deity that supposedly "loves" you will readily condemn you to burn in eternal hellfire for making a mistake is too ridiculous to be anywhere near the truth.

Why do you think you are going to hell? Nobody here on earth can tell you whether you are going to hell or not... we are not the judge.

As for why you feel you have to pay lip service to "Him"... I have no clue why you feel this way.

What sin... blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin. Denying the love of the Father and the Son is a sad way to live.

    dear skippy.

Hell is not about action, but attitude.

According to actual hebrew and greek, hell is not forever but for an age of ages, and is designed to remove Me Me Me from people.

If you think that the longer we remain in a certain way of doing things, the more we become.

If we are selfish, what will that become given thousands of years.

The hebrew word for righteous, is the word fair.

    Sin, is the word unfair.

Set this against your, or others actions and it will help you understand the problem. A person who consumes everything upon himself, becomes a black hole and produces nothing.

If you were surrounded by these people long enough, sooner or later, they will just kill you and take what was not theirs.

God doesn't send you to hell for not worshipping him.

He does it to stop people from destroying everything in eternity.

    Hope that helps

The only reason anyone would denied Heaven is because of their sin. Not religion, beliefs, political party, skin color... just sin. We are all in that boat, because we have all sinned.

God does not send anyone to hell. However he does send a Savior to rescue us from hell.

Hell was intended for Satan and his daemons, to quarantine sin. Satan decided to take as many of Gods creation, made in Gods image with him as possible.

We tend to think sin is no big deal. Everyone does it. Your just as good as the next guy...

Look at sin from Gods perspective. He sees sin for what it is. He sees everything, every pain, every injustice, every act of unspeakable cruelty. He sees it all. He sees what it has done to this world from week one. Most importantly it is sin that separates us from Gods love.

All sin, no matter how small, represents a disobedience to how God wants things to be. He is not going to let any sin be unpunished. Hell is a place furthest from the presence of God where sin is punished and quarentened for all eternity. That is how bad sin is, it deserves eternal punishment.

God from the beginning of time devised a plan to save us by sending His absolute best, His perfect Son to rescue us from hell.

Sin always tries to get in the way, keeping us from God. God will not allow sin into Heaven. Christ perfect sacrifice cleanses our sin so we can live eternally, with God, like in the beginning. His salvation is available to all. No restrictions or exceptions. It is those who reject Christ's work of salvation who restrict Christ through their beliefs.

So you see, it is we and our sin that condemns us to hell, not God. The entire plan, laid out in the Bible, is His rescue plan.

Like any gift, receiving the gift and belief(faith) in the gifts value is required if the recipient is to benefit from it. God is not going to force anyone to receive his gift, but the gift is freely available non the less.

Some people do not want anything to do with God. Some love their sin too much to let it go. For these hell is the option. God is not going to force those who do not want to be with God into heaven.

Doing your own thinking will not save you from hell. All you have to do is accept Jesus as your Savior. No begging is necessary. That requires thinking for your self and not being influenced by the world and satan.

Worshiping Him is not lip service, it is praise to the one who saved you from hell.

Um, any sin, the littlest thing you ever did was sin, and the punishment for sin is death.

All you need to do is ask God to forgive you and to be your Lord and Savior, and follow Him. It's not God collecting money to get to heaven, He can't have any sin in His sight. He loves you very much and doesn't want you to die and go to Hell. If you ask Him to forgive you He will.

WHY are SOOOOOO many people convinced there even IS a Hell?

    You need a different religion.

There are a few out there that do not condemn your "soul" to eternal damnation.

Right! If God is at all fair then the hell concept doesn't make sense.

If God is not interested in being fair then most of us are up the creek, so to speak.

I decided not to worry about it.

I too don't see why you should go to hell

surely god should say "Well I'm disapointed you didn't worship me, but then well done for thinking for yourself and not just obeying for the sake of it. Here, try it again!"

    Or something similar.

But eternal torment? Seems OTT to me.
