Are these Kicker speakers good?
I am looking at upgrading the factory sound system in my "new" car. The old speakers sound like crap, and I'm looking to throw in some new ones that have decent bass at a decent price.
I guess my first big question is whether or not Kicker overall as a brand is good quality, and then more specifically whether or not the two speakers listed below are any good. They will be hooked up to a factory head unit until I get the cash together to upgrade it as well, and then possibly an amp in a year or two.
Here's the speakers...

You would be better off picking up some Alpine Type R 6.5" and 6X9 speakers, then get an Alpine 4 channel amp (this will allow you to keep the fader and balance controls) 100 watts rms @4 OHMS X 4.

The 6 X 9's that you are looking at, I have them installed in my car. I am running these kickers, and a pair of kicker KS series 5 1/4. They are powered by an MTX Terminator 4 channel AMP. They put out a very crisp sound and the 6 X 9's surprisingly have a fair amount of bass to them. I would highly recommend them. I also have a pair of Kicker tweeters, which is a MUST for a good car system. I love Kicker.

Kicker is a good quality brand. Its a matter of opinion really, but most people are totally satisfied with kicker speakers. An amp would be ideal for those speakers, however.

Kicker makes good speakers all around. Those are made for driving mids and highs really hard. If you decide to get them, make sure to install a passive crossover in-line before the speakers so that you're not pushing frequencies the speaker cannot produce. Depending on your system, you may want to use a higher cutoff frequency for the crossover, too. And as far as bass goes, no... No in-door speakers are designed to produce the kind of bass I assume you're looking for. Get a nice subwoofer setup if you're looking for bass.

Kickers are definitely a good brand, and good quality. They may not sound real great when hooked up to the factory head unit, or upgraded one because they're designed to be used with an amp, so there may not be a real lot of bass to them until you have an amp behind them. If you want good bass for cheap right now, try the 6x9's from walmart, boss is the brand, they sound really good, and they're only about $15 a pair. If you're willing to listen without a real lot of bass for a while until you get your amp or new head unit, then I'd say they're definitely worth the money. sonicelectronix is good, I got my system from there, and got it right away, and no problems. Hope this helps.

yes kicker is a good brand one of the top. i have 4 6x9 Kicker KS6930 with a amp and that **** bangs like no other they can hear it like 1 mile away and people are jealous of it.

I go with the Kicker KS6930,
this way when you get your amp, you can use them to their full potential.
when you buy an amp, make sure you get one with this feature
"100 watts RMS x 2(channels) @ 4 Ohms"
