what to put in the space between the stone and the stone wall in the exterior of the home?

We have stone steps and a stone wall outside the home. There is a space between the step and the wall where I'm afraid water gets in. What can I put there to prevent water from getting down in there? Outdoor caulk? sand?

dont put cement in there , you need some room for movement between the 2 surfaces...stuff some backer rod in there and use a concrete caulk to keep the water out...

get a bag of premix concrete, mix it with water and concrete glue to help it stick better. now that your mix is ready pour it into the crack, work it into the crack with heavy piece of wire until the crack is full, add a little more over the whole length of the crack raising it above the level of the step.just a little above so the water drains away from the side of the house. hope this helps.
