How do I reset my computer's IP address?

After all the hell of removing a virus from my second computer, the IP address is now set to 0.0.0.0. How can I reset it to its correct address?

Just do a start>run cmd, then type ipconfig/renew. Assuming you are connected properly to the network and your adapter is working properly, this will force the PC to request an address from the DHCP server.

If you are using a windows OS, go to the network adapter that you are using through network connections. then go to the properties of that adapter and proceed to either the TCP/IP protocol button or on vista Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP). Then you can manually set your ip address

jus click start-- run-- cmd-- ipconfig-- type ur new ip address, which is now ur pc's address, dont confuse it with ur ISP's ip address which u find using sites such as http://www.ip-details.com/
