Any good drive wipe programs I can download for an old computer running Windows 98?
I've looked high and low to find a good hard drive wiping program so that I can clean my old computer, but everything I've found so far, even though it says it works on 98, doesn't. I really need to get rid of this old paperweight, but have to kill the data first. Any good suggestions?
7 AnswersDesktops9 years agoWhy doesn't my old computer see the CD (D:) drive anymore?
I'm trying to wipe my old computer's hard drive in order to be rid of it, and I have a CD boot disk to do the job. Unfortunately, the computer is not seeing the drive, so it can't boot from the disk. How can I restore visibility of the drive?
2 AnswersOther - Computers9 years agoWhy does "Export to Excel" vanish from the right-click menu in my browser?
This happened for the first time ever this morning. I pull data from a website by right-clicking it and selecting "Export to Excel" from the options. That option has now vanished. I tried the Compatibility button, but no luck. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
1 AnswerOther - Internet10 years agoRegarding personal expectations in a relationship...?
I'm curious about what other people think about having expectations of their partner in a committed relationship or marriage. Is it OK to expect that they will want to grow and improve and become a better person/partner/spouse if you push yourself in that direction, or is it better to let them be whoever they are, even if inhibits your own growth?

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do I add an old computer to my network in order to get old files from it?
The only way to connect is through an ethernet cable from the old computer into my router, although I could plug into my laptop if necessary. What steps do I need to take to get the network to recognize the old computer so I can access the files on it?
5 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhy would the time of day affect the speed of my laptop?
This is kind of weird. During the day, my machine runs just fine, but in the evenings and later at night, it is slow as molasses. Some pages don't load at all, some take a few minutes, and others load with errors. What's going on here?
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhy doesn't a file delete from the print queue?
I have a file that I tried to print, but it got locked up. When I tried to delete it from the queue, it said it was deleting the file, but it just sits there continuing to say the same thing. I unplugged the printer, restarted the computer, all of the usual things, but it won't go away. In the meantime, I can't print anything. What am I supposed to do to get this thing out of there?
1 AnswerPrinters1 decade agoHow is Excel 2010 an improvement over Excel 2007?
I jumped from 2003 to 2007 about 6 months ago, and now the move is already on to 2010. Is there enough of a difference between 07 and 10 to warrant the upgrade? How is 2010 better than 2007?

I have been using Access for several years and love the flexibility and versatility it provides. Now I am being forced to switch to MySQL. I wonder if anyone else has used both programs and what your impressions are. I need to know what's good and what's bad about MySQL compared to Access. Is it a one-for-one transition?

4 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhy do players throw the ball in the order they do after a strikeout?
After a strikeout, the catcher throws to 3rd, who throws to short, who throws to 2nd, who throws back to 3rd, who throws back to the pitcher. One, why is it done this way, and two, why is the first baseman left out? Seems like I've heard an answer to this, but it's been too long.
8 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHas anyone else had problems with their Blackberry Storm?
The enclosed software didn't work, so I had to borrow my wife's (turns out it's useless anyway), the video feature locks up the whole device, creating music playlists is massively time-consuming and requires too many steps, the camera delay is way too long, I can't get pictures off the thing without e-mailing them one by one, and on and on. This is getting on my nerves!
