Just FOUND two hamsters?
Well as crazy as it sounds, today I found two hamsters (both in separate critter trail cages) with a bag of supplies sitting on the side of the road.
Of course, I took them in. They looked hungry and hot since they were in the sun.
My question is, what can I do to bond with them?
I've got dogs and cats but I keep them outside. For some reason,
I'm still really jumpy about holding them and whatnot.
I have had a gerbil before but I'm not very familiar with hamsters.
I know the basics of taking care of them and the playing in the empty bathtub trick but is there anything else I should know?
weird little things like blowing on them? Haha I'm not sure.
They seem to kind of like that...?
Thanks in advance!
*also, since I just found them, I'm not sure what kind they are
or even their gender. Not sure if that matters?
Alright, I did some research. Looks like I've got one Syrian hamster and one panda hamster.

You are an AWESOME person! I have several animals I adopted that were abandoned by a$$holes! (I apologize for the language.) I mean really, how bloody hard it is to commit to an animal with such a short lifespan? The person could have at least sucked it up and taken them to a shelter, even if it was for euthanasia. That is certainly kinder than leaving them on the side of the road.
You can't put them together, both hamsters you mentioned are solitary beings. Use bedding other than pine or cedar. Whatever bedding you do use, freeze it for 48 hours to kill any parasites like lice and mites. Feed them a good hammie diet (plenty of sites for that). If you are fearful of holding them, you might want to take a washcloth and use that to pick them up. (Using gloves one tends to squeeze to tight.) Besides, the trick in using the washcloth is to allow them to smell you and get used to you. Be sure to wash your hands between handling the two so you remove the scent of the other from your hands.
I'd recommend getting a good care book on hamsters so you are armed with fairly decent information. It gets kind of a hodge podge and inaccurate information when you just ask an open forum like this.
Good luck!

wow that's great,do you live in the usa ? cos here in the uk,you don't find or see many hamsters unless they are in pet shops, any way ,im glad you have those types of hamsters, they are the best ,firstly i would clean their cages just in case they are in cheap conditions , do they have a wheel ,they need one of them for exercise, you should feed them fresh food aswelll as packaged foods (available at any pet shop) also theese hamsters are no to be in the same Cage in case your thinking of doing that ,they are Territorialtorail hamsters and prefer to be alone and will kill each other if they are put together. You could tame them ,just by holding ,they with gloves at first, giving them treats when they behave, and lastly make sure they have water and food ,and i wish you and your hamsters the best of luck .

technically it quite is wat people have pronounced yet possibly the healthful hamster caught a diease from the different hamster, additionally, if the two hamsters have been pals, the different you would be able to of died from loneliness. Sorry that your hamsters died :(

I know it's weird, but go out and buy a heavy-duty set of gardening gloves. If they bite, you dont even feel it!!!
