Why do you think Obama's approval rating has dropped to 42%?
I would like real answers, not things like he is stupid or because he is a liberal. If you are a Democrat and have changed your mind since voting for him why?

quadrupled the deficit in just 7 months. He promised he would cut the deficit in half. Most people thought that meant he would spend less than Bush. Now they realize that what he meant was first I'm gonna quaruple the debt and then I'll gradually phase it down to half of that before phasing it back up to a Trillion a year and keep increasing it forever after that. So even the smallest projected deficit Obama intends to have 4 years from now, will be twice as big as any deficit Bush ever had. The man is deliberately planning to run 9 trillion dollars in debt in the next 10 years. Even democrats can see that this will completely destroy our economy, inflate our currency, and destroy our credit rating as a nation. The only people that can support him in that plan are the ones that choose to remain ignorant of it. I'm shocked by his gall to openly release a budget projection like this and then brag about reducing debt and calling his plans deficit neutral. He really thinks people are too stupid to know what he's talking about. Apparently there are not as many morons in this country as he hoped for.

Probably because the national debt has skyrocketed since he took office. That and because maybe the kool-aid is wearing off now. And I say that not in a sarcastic way, but I seriously think that people were so disappointed in Bush that they thought ANY Democrat would be the solution, and he was the one that happened to win the primary. They blindly followed a man that was different, said the word "change" alot, and had very little experience. It also helped his cause that McCain shot himself in the foot by picking a complete idiot like Palin as his running mate.
People are waking up now and realizing their mistake. Bush was a bad president, but I'm afraid Obama is just as bad and may prove to be worse in the long run. Regardless of their party, this country needs a more moderate President with more experience. Both sides need to stop pushing their agendas, and just concentrate on fixing this country's problems in a less extreme manner.

Zogby: Obama Approval Plummets to 42 Percent
President Barack Obama's job approval rating is down to 42%, with a decline in approval from Democrats the leading factor.
___________
Many of the Dems have lost faith in him, that's why.
Thank goodness!

Overall, 45% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s down a point from yesterday and the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove. See recent demographic highlights from the tracking polls.
These are the latest Rasmussen Polls for all of you liberal Nay sayers ..... His numbers are sliding because he is not listening to the people just because you are elected doesn't mean the majority agrees with your entire platform it just means they don't feel they have a better alternative

He made promises he can not keep. People expect results do not write checks you can not cash. Most American do like where the country is headed. The race card is over played and they have to stop blaming Bush, Palin, Rush. and others for the problems this country faces.

it would help if you cited a legitimate news poll as a source, and no, a blogger does not qualify as such. That said, approval ratings go up and down with the times, and the only "poll" that will count will be the ones the voters use in november, 2012.

the Honest answer is because americans hate to be patent and refuse to wait on anything, they want the quick fix and don't understand that as president he has no real power other then signing a bill into a law they should be upset at congress for the lack of productivity. if you are wondering i am a legal german immigrant and have lived in america for 19 years

Everything changes in politics and so do people. Ratings may have dropped because people no longer agreed with him and that happens all the time in politics. Obama is a well educated, spoken and a president that implements on what he says. You see Obama took this country in its economical crisis so everyone expects to see a better USA overnight. Its not gonna happen, change takes time. I think he's doing a wonderful job. Obama is #1!

Very simple. His inexperience is showing. He can not run the country based on his likability. His advisers are failing him and he has fallen down and can not get up. Too funny.

I'm shocked to hear this actually. I never had strong feelings about the guy, but people were head over heels in love with him, saying that he was the greatest president of our time and that he was a modern Abraham Lincoln.
Maybe people just set their expectations too high.
