Hall Of Fame Poll: Who would you vote for in this list?

I know it's way early but i was looking at the MLB Hall Of Fame website & in it they had the names of Players being considered from 2010 till 2014. Thought it be fun for this Poll to see who you would vote for from this future list. This is the preliminary list for 2011. Who do you think deserves it from this list & who doesn't? Enjoy->

2011: Jeff Bagwell, Rafael Palmeiro, John Olerud, Kevin Brown, Larry Walker, Juan Gonzalez, Tino Martinez, B.J. Surhoff, Marquis Grissom, John Franco, Bret Boone, Al Leiter, Benito Santiago, Carlos Baerga, Raul Mondesi, Bobby Higginson, Wilson Alvarez, Rey Sanchez, Charles Johnson, Jose Offerman, Ugueth Urbina, Ismael Valdez, Dan Wilson, Paul Quantrill, Cal Eldred, Kirk Rueter, Steve Reed

Update:

I didn't put him. The HOF website did.

Let me preface my answer by saying that I'm a believer in a small Hall. Only the best of the best should be inducted.

Juan is automatically out. B12 shot my *** (or in his ***). Palmerio won't be getting in - another victim of the "B12 vitamin". Bagwell and Walker are the only 2 possible HOFamers I see. Bagwell has serious questions about steroid use (IMO) and Walker really only had what I would consider 5 good/great seasons when you consider that he played in Colorado (pre-humidifier) and Montreal (which was generally considered a really good hitters park). No one on that list is even a 5th or 6th ballot guy and it wouldn't surprise me if no one from that list made it to Cooperstown.

Re-examining Walker's stats, I'd say he's got a decent chance (I personally wouldn't give him a vote) but it's going to take him years of eligibilty to get in.

Damn that's a long list. Well, I think Bagwell, Olerud, Brown, Walker, Martinez, Wilson, and Eldred should get to the HOF cuz they always played the games with heart and agility and honesty.

I don't think Palmeiro, Boone, or Gonzalez should cuz they took steroids and Offerman and Urbina have had their off-field troubles in the past. The rest of the list, I'm kinda iffy. I don't know if everyone here deserves the HOF.

A lot of Hall of Over Achievers or Hall of Very Good and maybe even Hall of Fame for specific teams (IE Bags = Stros) etc.....I think Bags will be the only one on the list that actually gets any sort of support and eventual enshrinement. The 2011 class is not looking very strong but that does not mean that no one will be selected for the Hall of Fame in 2011. Leftovers like Tim Raines, Roberto Alomar, Barry Larkin (if these later two do not get elected in 2010/but seems unlikely). In 2010 i am hoping to see The Dutchman Bert Blylevan and The Hawk Andrea Dawson finally elected to the Hall of Fame, that would leave Alomar, Larkin and possibly even Lee Smith (Relief Specialist in the in the 80's and 90's and one of the first 1 inning relief aces)(along with Jeff Readon). The writers will submit there ballots in december and the world will know in the first month of 2010. Good Luck and Good Question.

Of that list, I'd only pick two - Bagwell and Palmeiro - but Palmeiro has been busted for peformance enhancing drugs and the rumor is that Bagwell was as well. I've been a big Bagwell fan since he first started out playing for Houston as I'm a long-time Astros fan but there's no way I'd vote for him on the first ballot if I had the choice. The way he fell apart at the end of his career and the fact that he was good friends with Ken Caminiti, another confirmed user, leaves me serious reservations about the selection. Therefore, who would I choose from this list to go to the HOF? None of them.

Not much there imo...MAYBE John Franco and Bagwell, but that's about it.

They'd be the only guys who would get a second look from me, the others of course wouldn't get a first look.

Bagwell, 1 MVP, 4 all star games... slightly below average in terms of league leading performance. Borderline, imo, especially for a first baseman... his offensive numbers were hurt by playing much of his career in the Astrodome. I also wouldn't vote for Larry Walker, because his numbers were vastly inflated by playing in Colorado.

Palmeiro is the only guy there who has true HOF numbers, but I wouldn't vote for him because he wasn't clean.

Frankly, I can see passing on every one of these guys. But since Bagwell meets 59% of the HOF standards, I might vote for him.

Then again, his career did cover the steroids era.

MAYBE Franco, but that's a tough group. No one jumps out as being easily qualified except Palmeiro, but as I said, I wouldn't vote for him.

What the heck...I think I'd pass on the entire group, then spend the next year taking a closer look at Bagwell's and Franco's career to see if they belong.

Just Jeff Bagwell really. Maybe Brown and Walker

    1. Jeff Bagwell

    2. Bret Boone

    3. Tino Martinez

    4. BJ Surhoff

    5. Benito Santiago

Bobby Higginson does not deserve to be in the HOF because he never made an All Star Team, he pocketed 29.6 Million for 3 seasons and only hit 26 HR's in that period, and now hes bagging grocries in Alabama

I think Jeff Bagwell and John Franco will be the best choices out of those players. Many players are good, but not hall of fame worthy. Especially the ones who use steriods such as Rafael Palmeiro
