At the start of this new educational semester have you been informed on how to obtain useful information?

Most educational institutions have many bulletin boards scattered about the campus. Some of these bulletin boards are used for postings directly from the institution while others include advertisements from the student body. During orientation have you been made aware of where "your" bulletin boards are? In my opinion, it is worthwhile to take the time to survey around the campus at these bulletin boards even if the events and seminars haven't been brought to your attention at orientation. Many opportunities arise for new-comers through these postings, an opportunity to become acquainted with the proper crowd. Furthermore, don't wait too long because many projects are paced for an entire semester or longer, and the opportunity might pass you by. Another benefit beyond meeting your group of peers is that you will notice important officials of the institution who attend seminars, and they will notice you if you make yourself available. One more piece of advise, don't rush into too many commitments unless you want to have your efforts spread more sparsely. Most respectable projects will have business contacts provided to you either on cards, handouts, or on a projector slide during the presentation. You should have the opportunity to observe many opportunities and choose the ones that are most interesting to you.

philosophy is a department of logic

In other words, the propositions of philosophy are not factual, but linguistic in character — that is, they do not describe the behaviour of physical, or even mental, objects; they express definitions, or the formal consequences of definitions. Accordingly we may say that philosophy is a department of logic. For we will see that the characteristic mark of a purely logical enquiry, is that it is concerned with the formal consequences of our definitions and not with questions of empirical fact.

That is not philosophy. Please delete this and ask where it is approrpriate. Just because Y/A suggests to put it here doesn't mean it's the right place because it's crap, kapeesh?
