I'm pregnant and have a cold, what if anything can I take to feel better?

One month or so pregnant and I have a head cold, thanks to my husband. I know I'm not supposed to take cold medication, but what can I take. I'm miserable, feeling sick to my stomach from being so congested.

You can take benedryl, sudafed or Tylenol cold & sinus. My dr. recommended that. Some people say you can "only" take one Tylenol brand and that's regular strength but most people can't survive from that, but some doctors say to take any tylenol brand but if you take the "rapid release" you can't take them every day. Only when needed and try not to take it the fallowing day.

Don't take anything without asking your doctor. You're in your first trimester so you pretty much have to stick to regular Tylenol, Robitussin (only if absolutely necessary) and Ricola cough drops. You can take more aggressive things in your second and third trimesters. I also used the throat spray and bought a sudacare mini vaporizer. It plugs in like a glade plug-in and helps the stuffy nose at night. A regular sized vaporizer would also help. Vicks makes a great one and it's at babies r us for only about $20. Good luck!

  • If your a bit "'snotty'' or have a sore throat honey is the best natural thing you can take just a tea spoon or if you can't handle it straight out of the jar put it on a sandwich otherwise the only thing i no is tylenol or benadryl (however you spell it!!) you can ask your pharmacist they will no wat you can and can't take

  • You can take Tylenol Cold. Thats what my Dr advised. I have a medication list that he gave me and its on there.

Sudafed is safe but it jacks me up. You can take benadryl. You can also take some sort of tylenol cold medicine. Feel better. :)

You can take plain robitussin, and plain sudafed. You also can take regular strength tylenol. And lots of vitamin C.

Claritin works. My doctor told me to take it and it was a life saver.
