Rats teeth are looking long, how to promote chewing?

I have 2 rats, 2 years old. they seem to have lost interest in chewing. i have all kinds of things for them to chew on. Wood house, lava block, wood sticks, hard things that look like cheese, things hanging and on the floor of their cage. some stuff looks a little nibbled on, not much. But there teeth are starting to look long. If possible i don't want to put them through the stress of trimming their teeth. If i have to get them trimmed i will.

Is there anything i can put on their toys so they would chew them? or

Is there any specific toys they go crazy over?

I personally wouldn't give my rats newspaper to chew on because the ink can be toxic.

get toast and put it in the fridge, leave it for a day or so until its hard and your rats will love it :)

Carrots are good for their teeth and is also good for them.

Salt and mineral sticks sometimes work but sometimes they don't eat it. You can buy fruit and veg sticks in your local pet shops they will also trim down your rats teeth.

I think the toast is the best thing for teeth trimming! :)

unfavourable female desires a visit to the vet. Her front tooth are overgrown. some rats seem greater companies to it. luckily mine in no way had any subject concerns with them. She needs to pass see a vet. ideally a small animal/exotics vet who could have the mandatory products to do the shaving. sooner or later if she has no pastime in toys and chew sticks. ( Mine in no way incredibly did the two) Popsicle sticks with somewhat ice cream or maybe a small fowl bone works wonders with getting their tooth down. No you will no longer could desire to complication approximately your rat ingesting a chew of the bone and having in pierce a considered necessary organ. Ratties have sturdy sharp tooth that are fairly able to grinding bone down. sturdy success!

Give them rope, they love to chew on ropes, cardboard, chicken bones(they love the marrow in them), news paper, and pieces of untreated wood.
