What's going on with my starter?
I am having trouble getting my bike started, I heard if you jump the solenoid with the battery to the starter, then it should start, well my starter is barely doing anything, its slow and sounds like the battery is dead, which, it's not because it's new and charged. Any possible problems? If the starter is bad would it even be doing anything at all?

your starter could be bad resulting in a power drain from the battery if the starter motor is shorted out it can cause sluggish performance and drawing way to much amperage from the battery. the proper way to check this is to remove the starter and have it bench tested to see how much power it is drawing.

if you jump from the s terminal on the starter to the battery cable terminal on that same starter, it should crank at normal speeds. if it does not then i think that you have a problem with either a dead battery or a hydrostatic lock (or at least close to) put the battery on a charger for a couple of hours or over night ideally, then go back and try again.

Sounds like your solenoid. Make sure the cables running to it are tight and clean. Also i hooked up a solenoid wrong before that gives it a slow crank.
