simple answer. all diets work. some are good, some are mediocre, and some are just dangerous, like high protein and fasting diets. the point is: you have to try. if you achieve your goal, you have to maintain. this is the sticking point for most people; and i include myself. i,m going to give weightwatcher another go. i lost 50 lbs. in the past, but couldn,t maintain.

I think anything that is not what you consider normal everyday eating or fad or not long term should be avoided completely. You may lose weight in the start but long term you most likely will gain back what you lose and more because the will power required to stick to a fad diet is much harder than eating a balanced healthy diet. Food should be considered as fuel, fuel yourself with the right foods (and we all no what these are) and get regular exercise and weight loss will come naturally. It doesn't have to be hard...keep it simple and don't deprive yourself of what the body truly needs! Good healthy food and plenty of regular exercise. Good luck.
