Why bother asking then give a thumbs down?
Why do so many people ask an opinion but only want a one sided answer. If someones already decided what they want the answer to be then why ask?
eg Should I run away? then give you a thumbs down if you say no.

When some users ask questions on here they do not want an honest opinion they just want an answer that agrees totally with them, so when you disagree then that is when the thumbs down appear, sad really it is not what this site is about.

I have given brilliant well thought out answers only to be picked over by the person asking the question for some answer that it partly my own and partly anothers and basically nonsense. The questioner only wanted their idiotic belief confirmed and choose an answer that would do just that. This bodes ill for the questioner because picking this bad advice (and I have seen it over and over and over) only means you are going down the wrong path and a lot of pain will happen.
An example: Recently someone asked yet again about long distance relationships. I have been in two and they don't work unless you are willing to move or someone involved is. I said so in my answer with the overall point that your are beating a dead horse with long distance relationships and unless you move forget it.
The questioner picked an answer that blatantly stole from mine mentioning the idea that one of the people must move and then added some absurd thought that life is so unknown and long distance can work and dream that dream of it working. Blah blah blah. The answer was jibberish. The questioner admitted in the question that problems are already starting with the couple. But still instead of picking my more realistic answer they pick what they want to hear and pain will happen as this long distance relationship continues to sour. Pity.

Some people want to feel justified in their opinion. Some people want to see if your way of seeing things matches their own. Some people just like a good argument. Take your pick.
